I’ve seen your comments on this a few times. It seems either Wolford or Rees are going to have to make adjustments for the offense to work at all. I’m sure they’re doing that, but it’s a work in progress.

Rees needs to be doing his job which he is paid handsomely to do at a highly successful rate.
Which is why we are confused when our QB begins to struggle in the 2nd half and Rees goes away from the run game (and it was actually working then in the 3rd quarter) and doesn't do any QB type power runs to get easy yards.
We really need him to get creative. shite watch the Bills last night and look at how they run innovative passes to get playmakers the ball quickly to reduce pressure on Josh Allen.
Josh Allen is a top NFL QB.
We have QB with arm talent that is just learning to read through progressions and we rarely run quicks talk much misdirection plays to dump the ball to WRs and RBs to get outside quickly.
If a genius like Sark had this same team he would wear teams out making them go side to side for 3 quarters and they would be dead by the 4th and we could do anything we want by then.
We need everyone to do better and get better. However it's starts at the top with our coaches.

Why are we not running Milroe more? I thought his legs were suppose to be a huge part of this offense?

The dearth of designed QB runs is pretty appalling. Every time I see us line up in empty I keep waiting on the QB draw and it never fricking happens even when the defense all but abandons the middle of the field. Either Rees is an idiot or the coaches know Simpson and Buchner are so horrible that Milroe getting hurt would cause us to lose out other than Chattanooga. I cannot think of any other reason why you wouldn't force Milroe to use his legs if he won't do it voluntarily.

Maybe you are on to something there. It doesn't make sense that we don't use him in multiple kinds of runs.
Maybe it's because we know if he gets hurt we are screwed.
Then again he gets absolutely blasted in every game so I don't even know what to think

Good point. And now that I think about it, we know Rees knows how to effectively utilize designed QB runs because he did it with Book. Nothing about it makes much sense.

We need a new OL Coach. If Pittman gets canned by Arkansas I hope Saban is on the phone with him right away
Wolford had an incredible reputation from UK.
I think its a personnel/QB protection call issue right now.

Book had some shake and wiggle. Milroe runs straight but fast. He is all speed with a little power. If he uses the power too much he is likely to get hurt. Speed is a coaching choice. Coach has to put him on the edge or set up a wide open lane for a QB draw. BUT, QB draws do not work if the D is in spy with a LB.

Milroe could probably sneak second or third based on his Physical skillset. Tape I think drops him more towards the Logan Thomas end
Richardson's tape is horrendous at times but he's a lot better in the pocket and making progressions than Milroe. Upside is more feasible because you see flashes of development, Milroe doesn't have that and would be a complete project.

I’d like to see Milroe run some more. He has the talent to do so. Some of the runs he’s had in his career are things of beauty. Maybe we will start working it in. There are actually a few things we could do I think could help get us 1st downs but what do I know.

I think go with 11/3-wide, HB instead of TE. SE wide left and HB on the left. 2 wide to the right. Run the WR's on the right deep smash and skinny post. Tight motion the HB left to right. RB lead and Milroe follow him to the edge. HB picks off the Spy. RB cleans the edge contain. Milroe off to the races. That would be the same as a wildcat double lead sweep.
You could do the same with a 20 formation where the HB shift to the right half back in a power pistol.

Boz, Have you been to the new Rudy's BBQ in Panama City Beach? I had dinner there tonight. Not quite as good as the orriginals in Round Rock, The Woodlands, or San Antonio but still pretty good Texas BBQ.
Looks like I might be moving my operation out of New Orleans to the Panama City area this winter. We need to meet up at Rudy's one of these days.

Wolford was only at UK for one year. Most of his time has been with USCe

don't think one player on offense would qualify as elite!
Lack of coaching doesn't help either.
I kinda disagree with this. It may not be the wealth of years past but Bama has horses. But it's not Tua or Bryce or Mac that's leading the offense I distinctly remember opposing fan bases being critical of those QBs ( especially Tua and Mac) because of all the weapons that they had around them, but contrasting then vs now: Tua Mac and Bryce hit players in stride. WR stats are great when you don't have to stop/jump/ turn around. Bond is as fast as Ruggs ( if not faster) Jase could be Najee 2.0 catching balls out of the back field....if he didn't have to stop ( when the ball does go that way) Niblack ..Benson..Prentice ...Hale are all good at bailing out marginal to bad throws... They just aren't able to get YAC. Poor Hale had a 25+yd reception if thrown properly but instead got pounded by the Ark defensive player

Funny you mention that I went this last weekend I walked away happy. One of my neighbors really wanted to go so we went out. I think it’s better than Moes in Destin and Moes is pretty competitive on the BBQ spectrum.
Absolutely I’d love to meetup.
