Those bastards DID play Rocky Top...they have to pay for that...our band should learn the OSU fight song.

Throw Memphis and UCF in that stack of paybacks owed.

I was at that La Tech game where they threw that last second pass to beat us. Me and Dad were so sure Dubose was fricking done and that’s the only thing that kept us from not breaking shite...... and then we went and won the SEC

I was there too. I remember my Dad wanting to get up and leave at that very moment, but I just had to stay and watch the kickoff return. I knew we had a chance to return it for a touchdown. We were Alabama after all, and I was an optimistic young lad. Regardless, still fond memories for me. I lost my Dad this summer, so it's nice to just pull ballgames out of the memory bank from when I was a kid

I was in Nashville back in the day for that bowl game & Gophers lived it up till the next morning sunrise after Spencer zipped his fastball 10 feet over WR hands.
Yeah, payback would be nice.

I just remember somberly walking out and hearing Rocky Top, turning and seeing it was their band and just being like "really? REALLY?".

Then I feared for their safety as redneck Bammers began to froth at the mouth about it.

At that point we had lost so many heartbreaking games we didn't need rocky top blaring at that moment that finished our season at 6-6. UT had a streak on us.
Talk about salt on the wound.
2003 Bama/Tenn 5ot game still hurts 16 years later.

Talking about playing Minnesota in some garbage bowl game feels awful.

Their coach also said something about their fans being outnumbered but not outclassed

I watched that game on 1987's youtube channel at some point this summer because I'd forgotten the nuts and bolts of it.

Lawd it was awful. Barber and Maroney murked us.

I’m surprised you weren’t there being a fellow Tennessee native

Plus that shitty field of ours tore up somebody's knee back in the 80s

Kerry Goode... that was the first game of my first freshman year and I was there; that Legion Field turf was AWFUL.
Bama was leading 31-14 after Goode returned the second half kickoff for a TD but the game turned when he tore up his knee and Doug Flutie got hot. A terrible start to a bad season salvaged somewhat by beating au.
