Reminds me of when they came to tuscaloosa with hargreaves and Elam and we just ate them alive.

Except that team truly had some really good DBs and it just didn't matter.

Vernon Hargreaves, Jalen Tabor, Brian Poole, Keanu Neal, Marcus Maye

This group......doesn't.

All these comforting stats, and yet, still sick to my stomach

I will never be any other way either.
Do you have the PFF for Alabama defenders?

I believe Christian's numbers are why he's primarily used as a missile blitzer

They've been very good

We'll see how legit those numbers are this weekend, though

A lot of good receivers on UF team and Mullin is saying they will beat us like it’s already happened.

Guess we know now that Pitts will be doing a lot of drags across the middle

I am curious to see how often we match a LB on Pitts.

I’m wondering if we’ll do something like the guys in the College Football Nerds video was saying: go a set lighter than one would expect based on alignment, to have an extra DB on field (example: dime package instead of nickel). Treat Pitts like a big WR instead of a TE.

Possible to give up a little more in the running game, but that’s a small concern relatively with Florida

That would be my preference assuming we are healthy and fully available.

Being the late game, I'm curious to see if Pitts opts out. He has had a concussion and possibly a re-emergence of issues related to that keeping him out vs LSU. Uf's fate, win or lose, vs Bama will be known or most likely suspected at the very least.

If no chance for the CFPs and assuming he doesn't place high value on SEC Championship, he may decide its not worth the risk of a repeat injury or even a potential struggle vs the best D he faced (although not the typically dominant one) in a season. Protecting a potential Top 10 or Top 20 grade may very well outweigh those risks in his game calculus

Mullen said today he hopes he can play. That didn’t sound exactly great.

On the coverage part there is no reason we shouldn’t be in dime and play tight zone. We have the players to do so and UF is not a good rushing team. That tactic may not work against some teams but it absolutely can against UF. 0 reason an ILB should ever be covering Pitts.

He may have already opted out and coach is protecting him to not look like he quit on the team

I'm guessing Mullen is just being Mullen.

I'd be shocked if Pitts didn't play.

The whole Florida team is banged up and worn out. This is their 8th straight SEC game. That is a whole normal season SEC schedule.

Florida looked good the 1st three games against Missouri, Georgia and Arkansas. They started to look worse and worse with each passing game against Vandy, Kentucky and Tennessee. LSU with like 50 players got them in their 7th straight game.

I think Bama would beat a fully healed and rested Florida by around 14. I don't think Bama will have much trouble with this worn out Florida team.

The way I understand it, they move him around much like we do with Smith and Billingsley, in order to look for mismatches.

It's thus hard to match him up on an individual defender, because, for example, if Moore has that role and Pitts motions to set up on the line as a traditional tight end, Moore would then become a liability in terms of defending the run.

On a positive note, we will probably be using a lot of dime, which will theoretically remove Harris from the equation, as there will only be one Mike linebacker on the field (Moses).
