Does anyone know when those video packages are put together? It could give credence to that twitter guy's post linked above that Bryce was going to go until his shoulder tightened up on game day?

Gotta be pretty soon before the game - they just slide in the player's intro picture and the announcer saying his name I think, so they can pretty easily change it.

I figured they'd announce both of them, so it was definitely a little weird to only hear Bryce. I don't think I've ever seen that before in a situation like that. So, it might very well line up with the idea that was he gonna go and then got tight and didn't.

Also might explain why he didn't throw a single pass - it got tight and they decided no way, don't even touch a ball.

100% what I was expecting, too.

gee i was expecting Saban to tell Tennessee exactly what we are going to do so they can prepare for only one of our very different QBs instead of having to prep for both

No preparation will be necessary to stop an Alabama offense quarterbacked by the guy we saw last Saturday.

Gonna both agree and disagree with you there. Agree in the sense that Milroe can't make the same types of mistakes he did Saturday and us have a chance. He's got to protect the ball.

Disagree with the implication we can't win if he plays. A&M's pass defense is ranked around 100 spots higher than Tennessee's. If Jalen does have to play again he might find an easier time passing than he did Saturday.

We really don't need him to sling it all over Neyland for him to be effective. If he can consistently make 8-12 yard throws without suffering a lot of pain then he should play.

This is why I'm already concerned about Ty Simpson. If he cant beat out what I witnessed last Saturday then I'm already on Team Eli Holstein '23

Yea, that was really strange. Everyone in the stadium saw that Bryce didn't throw a single ball in warmups and it was well past "screw with their prep" time

Actually, Bryce warmed up in the tunnel outside the locker room. Thats why everything was shut down, and no foot traffic was allowed in the north endzone.

Im sure you saw the pics of the staff blocking the tunnel with towels...thats why.

This might be a stupid take, but I don’t think Vegas keeps the line where it is if they thought Bryce wasn’t playing. 7.5 point line and a +240 line for the Vols is a ton if Milroe starts

That line is basically the actual formula line (1-2 pts lower).

So you are correct, that is not a "adjust the line for Young out" line.

Can’t recall if anyone mentioned it here but Bryce was announced as the starting quarterback during the video introductions in the stadium Saturday night against A&M. Crowd erupted. As we all know, Milroe actually started.

The same thing happened in 2011 or 2012. I was at a game, and they announced a defensive player as the starter, but he was out for the game. I wish I could remember who it was, but it's been too long.

Anthony Richardson threw 453 yards and 2 TDs against UTk. I'm certain UTk has improved but Richardson is just as bad of a passer as Milroe.

Florida also schemed up tons of rollouts where Richardson had half the field to read and easy throws on the run without thinking much.

If we do that I think Jalen could have similar success. We won't do that, though.

I know I complain a lot on here, and it is 99.9% about BoB, but some of you are very quick to overreact. Like many true freshmen, Ty probably doesn't know the offense well enough to run it. It's not like he is a "change of pace" QB with 3-4 plays designed for him.

I agree; BoB will not adjust.

By near future does that mean Saturday?

He doesn't know how yo adjust.

I mean he doesn't even know how to use the Heisman QB who is starting.

We basically just watch Bryce pull magic out of his arse or one of our WRs beat an opponent one on one.
