Saban needs to stick to Tidefans

As Nick grows soft, so do his teams.

So he's "growing" soft, along with his teams? Teams...plural? And the word "growing" implies it's a process, a trend, correct?

Just one question, then:

Where does the 2020 team...allegedly one of, if not the, greatest CFB teams ever...fit into that analysis? How does the team with 6 first round draft picks fit into that "growing soft" continuum?

This thought process is so stupid. College football would not be as big as it is without Sidewalk fans. Even though I have been an Alabama fan as long as I can remember, I can’t be an Alabama fan because I graduated from somewhere else? GTFO

It's been a great run and we all appreciate what CNS has done for the football team, the university, and for college football in general but let me get this straight: the coach that developed and installed The Process where everyone plays to a standard no matter the opponent or the score is butthurt because fans are trying to hold teams to that standard? What happened to "make his arse quit!"? And I don't think most fans are calling out players, I know myself and I think most of you are the same; I'm calling out coaches putting players on the field that are poorly prepared and unable to play to their potential, yet they run those same players out there week in and week out and wonder why fans bitch. That's doubly hard to understand and stomach when we have talent stacked 3 and 4 players deep at most positions that other teams would kill for, but they never see the field even when they see the player in front of them failing to perform his job well. That speech works both ways, coach. That isn't meant as an insult, just the cold, hard truth. Yes, Alabama fans are one of the worst, most entitled fanbases in the country. I'll admit that to anyone, but YOU helped set that bar of expectations. Instead of bitching at the fans, maybe you should look around and notice what they are bitching about. The standard isn't being met. Everything you said is true and should be taken to heart; we do love our team and our coach, but you aren't getting the performance you demand from everyone around you and fans are noticing.

...about to be 11-1, with a shot to win the SECG and make a playoff run. That is the standard we are currently at...

fans are acting like the sky is falling, damn near every single week this season, and want everyone fired and benched.

This is what Nick Saban is talking about. Its not complicated.

I believe he was spot on with his comments. Every team Bama plays gets their A game. Beating Bama would make their season. Just look at how the Auburn, LSU and aTm fan’s reaction and behave.

Unfortunately this extended run of excellence will end. We all should enjoy every single game during this period.

Not seeing what's wrong with the statement. You provide no explanation to why you don't agree. What do you think the mindset should be when you know the opponent is going to give you the best they have? Should it not be to be prepared for that and bring your A game every week? I'm confused as to why you have an issue here...
If you follow Coach Saban you should know that's EXACTLY what he always preaches. In fact, he tells them to concentrate on each play, and to not even look at the scoreboard!
To have fans excoriate him for NOT doing that would piss off the Pope!

Let the man run his team!
He's the BEST there is at it!

You're missing the point... Fans are upset that this team, this year's team, isn't dominating like years past. They don't have the same swagger as other teams. Yes, they're winning (been messy and sloppy at times)... But, we're just making sure they aren't slipping...we want them to get that attitude and focus that Saban has preached about for years. Then, he comes after us for it. That's just confusing, to say the least.

No, I believe you're missing the point.
I refer to your words that I highlighted, and my previous post's last paragraph:

You are a fan and nothing more.

He preaches focus yes but not to meet some unrealistic standard of a random fan who is not there day in/day out in the trenches.

What is confusing is we are 10-1 and on our way to Atlanta. We have a chance to win the SECC, NC, and the Heisman while fans like yourself are still unhappy.

That's a very good question. Saban might not be as animated as he was on the sidelines a decade ago but his teams continue to win. Saban was just as mellow in 2020 as he is in 2021. Despite this, the 2020 Alabama Crimson Tide is easily among the Top 10 greatest teams in college football history.
