I doubt he would be on the trail and recruiting if he didn't have an agreement.

I get the feeling every day this drags on, the less likely it is Grubb. They coulda had him already without going through NFL interview protocol for contracted employees of other franchises.

Maybe, the reason why they are taking so long is that the Seahawks are trying to work out some deal with the Giants so they can interview Kafka. I don't give a rats' behind who they hire as long as his name isn't Grubb.

The guy (Dan Viens) who a couple of days ago twitted that Grubb would be the new Seattle OC recently posted this:

Dear Seahawks, Could we please get an OC today? That would be great, thanks. Sincerely, Dan and friends.
Doesn't seem so cock sure now.

Someone posted on Twitter that Carroll was stepping down the night before he did. Then they posted that Mcdonald was getting the spot the night before he was announced (was already rumored). Then they posted "Grubb is the leader in the clubhouse."
So a lot of these YouTube, Twitter, etc personalities grabbed that and completely ran with it. As soon as they did, larger sites and personalities picked it up claiming they had sources (the YouTube guys) saying Grubb was the choice. Now I think they have realized it's probably not Grubb, so are hoping for some news soon. It could still be him, but doesn't look anywhere near the lock it originally was claimed to be.

The Commanders just officially let Eric Bienemy go. I bet he is headed to Seattle. It would be a good hire I think. His exp in Kansas City with Mahomes would be valuable if the Seahawks are going to draft a young QB.

I think they wanted Grubb but I think he’d have to get a substantial raise to leave here and go there, He is very loyal to Deboer. It would probably take at least 2.5 Million a year for them to get him and I doubt they’d pay that. If he stays at Alabama he’s probably one or two more good years away from getting a solid HC job where he’d probably make 4 million+ a year.

I believe Grubbs was making 2 million dollars a year at Washington. Probably at least that, if not more, here.

Yeah, that’s why I said they’d probably have to offer him about 2.5 maybe more, not sure how much he is making here but at least 2 million a year, probably more.

Seahawks interview Chip Kelly for OC. This has been an ongoing rumor that Kelly wanted out of UCLA because the Big Ten landscape. He basically does not try to recruit anymore. That could mean 6 to 9 wins in the PAC-12 but in the Big Ten it means you are the 2nd worst roster in the conference.

Thought the Raiders were Kelly's landing spot but they went with a different retread smh. Hopefully he gets the Seahawks gig. Another 30 day window.

During the season, there were rumors that Kelly was getting pushed out of Westwood but I think he ended the season well enough to save his skin.
I think he hates college recruiting, it’s only getting worse for him on that front: pay 4 play, constant recruiting of your own roster, and stiffer competition starting in 2024. I think everyone involved sorta realizes it ain’t gonna work there. I bet UCLA wishes they fired him now because they could’ve went after Arizona’s HC instead of dealing with a vacancy on or after Super Bowl week.

I posted for the same reason, I figured there's a good chance he's already getting 2.5 million at Bama. The average pay for NFL coordinators is thought to be about 1 million a year. The very top have made as much as 4 million, though (Josh McDaniels).

Probably, they have produced 15 draft picks and a few 1st and second rounders over the last 4 years. Don't know the roster well but I am sure there is some talent there, and they are probably itching to get out more than the Michigan and BC guys.

His recruiting was always mediocre. He did a solid job at evaluation. But he was successful at Oregon because of his system being so new and defensive coordinators had yet to adjust.
He's just finally hit the point where he'd rather take less money and responsibility than do things he hates.
