I already knew all that except for their dog's name. But, I'm still where I was - very optimistic but aware he may amount to nothing. I like everything he's said and the style he coaches though.

I didn't either. Was just wondering if anybody else did.

It was a good PC. He is inspiring. He has done his homework on Alabama.

new #Alabama MBB HC Nate Oats has already met with Kira Lewis Jr. and John Petty, both players recently entered the NCAA transfer portal. He says he plans on meeting with the rest of the team today.

Loved his matter of fact approach.

He is not a polished orator...which is another plus. I like folks that are not salesmen first and then coaches second.

I think we have a basketball coach that will do great things here...not saying we are going to supplant Kentucky and Dukes of the world. He came across as a coach that will get us back to being a top program and do it the right way.

Here is to him being at Bama 20 years and developing players into a team that competes and we can enjoy watching.

I'm not at all interested in someone "winning the press conference". In the end it's about results on the floor. He seems like a down to earth, blue collar work ethic person who just wants to coach basketball, seemed truly humbled (even shocked) at the opportunity in front of him.

He's not a bull-shitter, which is exactly what Avery Johnson's PC looks like in hindsight.

Pretty sure he did say that. I thought I'd misheard or something.

I was thinking he would have us as #1 overall seed by year 4.

JK

I am just looking forward to having a team that competes, that plays together, and gives as he calls it, max effort.

If we have that I can live with the results it produces....whatever those results are.

Honetly, if Kira is the competitor he appears to be I think he will like Oats. However, if Duke offers him and he somehow does not need to sit out a year I could not blame him. I don't see the other programs, even though they are stronger at the moment, being a strong enough draw to pull him away.

I say Kira is at Bama next year with a small chance he may go to Duke.
