Well, I am disappointed. I hope Oats is a home run but right now he just seems like another in a long line of mid majors. Success percentages are low. Hope we got the right diamond in the rough this round. Time will tell.

I'm good with the hire. I like it better than Matta(flamed out pretty bad at osu) and damn sure better than slimeball Pitino.

Thad would have been immediate success that would have dropped off after he left. Oats is 2-3 years build success that will last.

Oates is the real deal. We haven't had a guy that can freaking coach in a long time.
Most are crying because they want the splash hire but Matta was never coming. Pitino is a 67 yr old sanction waiting to happen. Byrne nailed it. Just wait and see.

Based on the fact that he got better at UB.
The point that people missed with Grant was that he actually got worse he went from 7 losses to 8 to 10.
Oats showed that he can take another Coaches success and build on it further. You can argue that if he had stayed at Buffalo they would turn into a powerhouse for years to come similar to Gonzaga and Butler of old. His style wins basketball games in today’s college basketball world.
