Players often don't have that relationship with the school and never will though.
Very true, players are way more likely to pick a school because of the coach than the school itself. That makes sense considering they are having to deal with the coach daily.
Arkansas had a few players come after the fans on twitter for getting Mike fired. I don't blame them that much, most players have a strong connection to their coach. Thankfully, most players also move on and learn to accept their new coach.

I believe we have him. It’s an excellent hire and everyone should be glad to have him. Should be announced soon. Will not spill a name until it is announced.

Byrne's gonna get a winner & once our team meets him, has 1 on 1 meetings with him, we'll see what happens. His vision & style of play will be determining factor. I think Byrne will make his hire by next Mon or Tuesday, possibly sooner.

Maybe I'm reading way too much between the lines, but I'm thinking it's going to be Forbes or an assistant. "Should be glad to have him" sounds like something you'd say if it's going to be a name the average fan doesn't immediately recognize but is well known as a quality basketball mind in coaching circles.

Whomever the new coach might be he will get a pass on year one for sure. Tom Crean pretty much set the bar height on how to evaluate your roster in the media but I bet our new guy might have to raise that bar with this current group of panty waist.

I say Forbes as well.
The man turned ETSU around quickly with incoming & juco's.
Still fairly young & excellent record.

Or it means that it is someone that we didn’t expect to get but we got. Like he could’ve gone somewhere else.
