Is it looking like Matta is the choice now?

In GB we trust. No one knows but him. But he's flopped his elephant trunk out there like a boss.

It’s so comforting to have a competent AD in charge now.

Matta would be such a spark for our program. I really hope he's the guy.

Yep, he's ugly & has a competitive & demanding hard arse personality we've not had in a while. I hope he's Byrne's choice.

I think Matta should and would have free reign to determine his own staff. Having said that, Bucky would be a nice asset for a guy out of his comfort zone and having been off the bench for a couple of years whether he can persuade Trendon or not.

By most accounts Bucky is a rising star and one of the best if not the best high school coach in the state. He would open doors for Matta to develop relationships with coaches in the state if not the region. Bucky would get a chance to learn from a very good college coach and perhaps move to his own head position in a few years. It’s a win-win.

Matta would need to hire Bucky or retain Pettway for in-state recruiting purposes. I don’t see any way that neither are on staff if Matta is our guy.

Matta would bring in gymrats from midwest. H3ll, he outrecruited IU for Greg Oden and Conley.

It’s fine if he’s hired as one of the main on-court assistants.

Yeah, those games making 7 for 20 something free throws & losing by 5 points or less far to frequent for a while now.

Ohio is right next to Indiana... That’s great if we can recruit some guys from there, but you can’t just turn your back on the state or southeast region. I’d trust Matta with whoever he hired, because he’s above reproach, but I’d be surprised if neither of those guys are on staff. He’s not going to have a lot of connections in the southeast.

I’ll be honest, I want Pettway to move on. I associate him with staffs that suck. I think it’d be better for his career and us if we went separate ways for awhile.

So, I guess it's safe to say the women's team is stuck with Curry next season?

A head coach at Bama gotta make inroads in Atlanta and Florida high school basketball if he's to be successful.
