Bring McElwain Back
No thanks. Horrible in the red zone and he proved at Florida he really isn’t at the forefront of offensive philosophy.

If not McElwain then Dan Enos.

I really think the problem is Saban on offense.

Our Erhardt-Perkins based hybrid pro style / spread offense is not the problem. It's a great system.
Overall, I think Daboll has the acumen to be a great OC for Bama and we're just seeing some 1st season growing pains.
Apparently with Saban's OK, he seems too bent on trying to turn Jalen into a pro-style drop back passing threat. At this point, it just doesn't look like that's succeeding.
Our offensive identity, gameplan and play calling need to play more to our stengths, instead of subjecting us to our OL's & QB's weaknesses.
Use more perimeter, stretch and misdirection runs, more screens, swing passes, quick short and intermediate throws, rollout rpos, slight-delay release of RB, HB, TE to vacated areas for easy throws & yac, etc.
That stuff has worked well -- it keeps us ahead in the chains, sustains drives AND helps open up the inside running game too.
That stuff plays more to Jalen's strengths instead of exposing us to his and our OL's weaknesses. The biggest flaw is focusing too much on slow developing pass plays.
I just hope Saban & Daboll will recognize these problems and appropriately re-adjust our offensive approach for the post season.
Btw, for the record, I'm finally feeling doutbful that Jalen will ever adequately overcome his inability to quickly read the field, find and accurately make the right throws.
Tua has shown that he can. I'm hopeful Tua proves he can do it while also minimizing picks. If so, I think Tua wins the starting job for 2018.

McElwain is not, nor has he ever been, a good coach/coordinator.

I think you're kidding yourself if you think Kiffin wasn't going somewhere as a head coach regardless
He definitely would have some point. I don't think he would have for FAU though.

I hope Dan Enos is the first call for the extra coaching spot in 2018. Let him coach QBs up. They probably promised it to Chris Weinke though.
Locksley is just kinda lame duck right now. Never hear anything about him and the WRs, nor has his recruiting prowess reeled in a big DC area fish...yet.

Dan Werner might be a solid option as QB coach.

Good chance, Daboll has a plan but we haven't recruited to make it work, yet.

I used McElwain as an example mainly because of Alabamas commitment to running the football and controlling the game. I would love to see a Dan Enid hire although Arkansas finds themselves in the predicament they are in now because Arkansas like Alabama lost their identity.

Dude he is doing his best with a subpar quarterback. And Saban is the one wanting this hybrid bullshite.
