I'd have taken Smart in a second, and would've been fine giving him 3.8. Football's a different story, but with basketball, we need to act like New money, because we are.

Markis McDuffie Twitter

They are basing their excitement and belief that he's staying on the fact that one of their recruits removed "#ShockerNation" from his profile yesterday and added it back today. I hate coaching searches.

Life is about choices.
He is faced with the biggest of his life.
There is only one boss in a family. The daughter only has 3 more years at home. This is about Mom and Dad being comfortable for the rest of there life.
We shall see.

Seriously. This is likely the last stop of his career. He can take his time.

Most were implying that Miller is waiting on a bigger, "blue blood" job.

They got over the shocker nation thing yesterday. Note they are fapping because a local baseball coaching got the good word, and pm'd the staff the name of his source.

But seriously, nobody knows anything yet.

But to step back and look at it. He's obviously interested, our else it wouldn't take two days with still zero info. His daughter is obviously pissed, which is to be expected. The sway lies with his wife. And on that, nobody knows if her taking her fine is good our bad for Bama. It just depends on the individual. Personally, I taske my time when it comes to committing to a huge life decision.

If it is too late for Howland, I'll take Krystkowiak

They also point out that he didn't say whether or not Marshall would accept.

That may be a pipe dream for him. He's only been a HC for 4 years. He had one good tourney run last year and won a play-in game at home + one more game this year, but I can't see many blue bloods thinking that is enough.

Give him a 1.5 million dollar raise and see if that changes things.

Make our rumored 6 year contract an 8 year deal.

When is one coming open? Syracuse in 3 years has their next coach being groomed. Duke will stay in the Coach K tree. Arizona has his brother. Kentucky? Cal not likely leaving, but if he does they'll have their choice of hires. UCLA just hired Alford last year. Self isn't leaving Kansas anytime soon. UNC will likely stay in Dean Smith or Roy Williams coaching tree.

There is no blue blood open for a while, so you take blue blood money some place else. That's the new college bball world.

Krystkowiak

hell no. Archie miller is a good plan B. Krystkowiak has, essentially, ONE good year as a HC. Not enough for me.

Hell bump it another $500K p.a.....what do we have to lose? not getting this deal done would be a disaster at this point.

We can afford to throw money at the problem until it is fixed. We'd still get a damn strong ROI, much like with Saban.

@CecilHurt - ESPN reporting that Wichita State is working on an "enhanced package" (i.e., a raise) for Gregg Marshall, as you would anticipate.

@TheHoundztooth - You have to remember. Gregg Marshall will have 2 contracts and take the one he wants. For 2 million extra bucks, I'd live in a tent.

I quoted the post that was "eliminating" Miller.

So you don't like offensive and defensive scheme ran by Krystkowiak, or do we just look at coaches records and tenure to decide. Bet you were jumping for joy when Grant was hired.
