Anyone who posts a BREAKING fake Marshall or arrest story on this board should be permabanned, imo

That's getting off too easy. We need to trace their IP, and unleash some old school mob justice.

Can this rule be approved? After the last week, none of us will laugh and most of us will want death by torture to the fool who does it.

Just finished Cecil's article. It's brief, but he did say Alabama would like an answer today. However, there is no timetable for a decision. Also pointed out that the contact with Pitino came last week while Wichita was still playing and Alabama was gauging interest in several candidates.

This is encouraging

Hope he wasn't one of the first people we contacted though.

I told you guys, we've been in contact with Pitino since last summer. So he probably was one of the first people we contacted.

I work with a guy that I would consider to be connected at WSU. He is concerned about him leaving ATM. There are certain things that are planned at the end of the year that haven't been scheduled yet. They typically have an end of the year celebration. It was scheduled immediately after the year ended last year, hasn't been scheduled for this year. There was no way he was going to leave last year after the undefeated regular season and the wild loss to UK in the tourney. This year is different. There is a lot up in the air about next year. The thought is that he would have a decent chance at making another Final 4 run next year with Baker and VanVleet. Right now, Baker and VanVleet may opt to enter the draft. They won't make their decision until after Marshall makes his move. That is something that could factor into his decision as well.
The coaches show being cancelled on Monday is concerning to him as well. It was something that was relatively easy to cancel during the tournaments based on nights that the games are on. There is nothing getting in the way of the coaches show now, other than Marshall being courted by UA and possibly UT. My personal thought on that is that the coaches show would have been an abortion with him answering questions from callers asking about Bama for an hour.
Just a small tidbit on what a normal (non-message board troll) shocker fan is thinking today.

Lucky just posted that Marshall continues to give Bama positive assurances that he wants the job. Sources say his family is very comfortable at Wichita State and have been slow to accept a move to Tuscaloosa. Lucky also states that it is very likely that marshall and his family could visit Tuscaloosa in the next day or two and if the trip happens that will be a positive for Alabama. Basically Marshall wants the job, were just waiting on his family to hop on board.

Hope he is right. This feels like it is taking a eternity.

It did make more sense last summer when he was coming off an NIT title. It's a much different sale when he is 18-15 and fails to make any type of postseason tournament. Zero NCAA tournament appearances will excite no one. As it's been said, if his name was anything but Pitino, his resume alone wouldn't be enough to get him a call, much less serious consideration.

I am at peace with whatever happens....would love to have the man coach at Bama....but having young children of my own, I can see where his are a real priority and I respect that. I wish him well whatever decision he may make. Although my opinion of the wasteland called Kansas will remain unchanged.

Kansas isn't so bad. The longer you stay, the more it grows on you. Your steaks, bread, and corn have to come from somewhere, right?
The southeastern part of the state actually reminds me of Bama in some ways. The flint hills are great.

I hate Kansas too. Although probably for different reasons. They're trying to sue Colorado for legalizing marijuana. I love how people are for states rights, until a state passes something they don't like. Then they come crying to the federal government. Hypocrites. Actually, hypocrites with weak arse BBQ.

I mentioned this earlier. We have to get his family down to see what they can expect. Yes, we played WS at home a few years back, but that does nothing for the family. They need to see what there getting.

Agree. His son is (I think) a SR in HS. He's not a jock and the fact that his dad is the coach at WSU is sort of his claim to fame. He, obviously, is a HUGE WSU fan, but he doesn't grasp how much of a bigger deal it would be for him - financially, socially, etc - to be a student at UA while his dad is a coach at UA. Getting him on campus may help with that, though I hate that this is spring break. Girls in sun dresses could close the son for us.

I have family in Kansas and I am through there fairly often. There are some good, salt of the earth type folks, but to tell the truth, every time I have been there I couldn't wait to leave

Nah, we're back at school. He'd get to see the full college experience if they were to visit. Maybe the Marshall's could live somewhere in Birmingham for his daughter to attend somewhere like Mountain Brook who is probably good at volleyball if that's what she is concerned with. I'm not sure if any Tuscaloosa schools have a decent volleyball program.
