I am sure Stanford will pay more than Bama but as far as depth piece, do we really have anybody that is so good that a solid player couldn't take their snaps?

He might be small but if you watch his film, he’s got balls the size of tractor trailers, not at all afraid of contact and will go up and fight for the ball. Very tough kid.

Browsing that On3 list, there's several capable RBs that appear to still be available.

supposedly was much smaller than the staff initially thought.
I want us to get a big body possession WR. This staff loves TEs, find a skinny+fast one that runs great routes.

Not trying ro derail this new thread, but my son sent me this text
TS, or anyone, is this true ON3 is reporting this?
Is it just some random poster?

Alabama is expected to announce the firing of Offensive Line Coach Chris Kapilovic in the coming days, sources tell BOL.
Some early targets:
• Scott Huff, ex-UW OL coach with Deboer. Currently serving on the staff of the Los Angeles Rams, so any interview would need to be done after the Rams get eliminated, which could be this weekend or after the Super Bowl next month.
• Matt Luke, former Ole Miss head coach and current Clemson OL coach

This was reported a few weeks ago that he would be let go after the portal closed.

Scott Huff is the TE coach for the Rams. For whatever it is worth, the Rams always seem to have productive TEs without ever breaking the bank for them. Maybe he picked up a thing or two from whoever has been coaching TEs from McVay. Maybe just generally being around one of the brightest offensive minds in the NFL for a year was a benefit to him too.
I'd like this hire but Matt Luke is a good OLC in college too.

Huff is proven to excel in our system at OL

If I had to make a guess: McVay brought him in to shadow the OLCs there and slide over there eventually.

Cayden Lee wr of Ole Miss is in the portal. The guy has made some clutch catches this year.

Lee would be a good add for us but I bet he goes elsewhere.

Scott Huff is more than just a tight end coach. Scott Huff was Petersens OL coach as far back as the Boise run
Scott Huff is arguably one of the best OL coaches in the country college wise. He’s dabbled in both but he’s very solid at teaching tight ends or OL to execute.

Yep, he was the OLC at UDub under DeBoer too. I think their is a possibility that we're a good option because he wants to get back on the OL group However I believe Buffalo's long-time OLC is retiring and the Rams current OLC was at Buffalo for a while before going to LA. So maybe they knew that was possibility was near when they hired Huff? With McDermott getting fired, maybe that calculus changes for McVay and Huff getting back to the OLC role in Tuscaloosa is more enticing?

I saw on one of the portal lists that his NIL value was $418,000. I don't know where they came up with that figure, whether it was an opening bid or what.

I read these are a combination of market value and their current social media platforms(clicks/followers). It is still a guess.
