Tomlin for DC? Nice. I also heard from a source close to John Harbaugh's camp that he's doing to tear up his contract with the NY Giants to come be an analyst for 'Bama. Also Kyle Shanahan is rumored to be interested in the Alabama OC job.

What a monster.

DeBoer sure isn't fricking around when it comes to the OLine this offseason.

Does this guy fit the mold of what they want on the offensive line ? I haven't seen him play but he looks like another Proctor, just a hulking tackle.

If he doesn't fit the mold of what Alabama is looking for, why the frick he would commit to Alabama then?

Not unless he's very light on his feet.

After everything we've heard about wanting more agile linemen for DeBoer & Grubb's system it just seemed odd seeing a 6'8 345 lb guy being brought on board.

Good question. It's very hard to imagine a guy that size with the mobility necessary. Maybe he can take the Proctor plays. Line him up as a lead blocker on short yardage. Defense would be making business decisions.

LT: Lloyd / Haywood
LG: Sanders / Strayhorn / Delgatty
C: Waldrep / Strayhorn / Delgatty
RG: Haywood / Lloyd / Poe
RT: Carroll / Brooks

That is a good group to build off of. Not a lot of experience though. Strength coach and OL coach need to earn their money with these guys.

Brooks is depth. Probably the 6OL package blocking TE

I wouldnt expect a poster named Chris Capps to know anything about playing Right Tackle

6'8 345 is pretty massive. Anyone have background on him?

Agreed. And we do like to run fun plays here and there. Dude is a 6'8" and probably not done growing. I can definitely picture situationals with him.

Didnt Fretwell get hurt?

He did, he was 2nd team by default basically due to roster churn IMO until we signed this kid from Texas.

Now we have 3 options at LT and 3 IOL guys who will compete with whoever loses the LT job IMO.

Based on what weve seen from the staff so far they'll throw a bunch of stuff at the wall and see what sticks, but I think theyd rather have guards who move like tackles in space than guards playing tackle by necessity like we saw early last year.

Gotta get rid of all the slow feet on the OL.

If he is, I’m sure he and Brodie Croyle aren’t the best of friends!!

I mean Brooks looks impressive but we just had a guy like that at LT that had all the potential in the world in Proctor and edge guys frequently just blew past him. Is Brooks that agile? I’m looking forward to seeing the deep dive analysis on him.

Thread title is Portal and Transfer tracker. You can create any thread you want to complain, talk about the Fall of Crimson Empire, and pretend to be coaches but let’s keep to what this specific thread is about. No reason I need to scroll through 3-5 pages that has nothing to do with the thread to get updates

Hopefully, you'll manage.
This thread is about the portal.
Difference of opinion is inevitable. Not everyone is optimistic all of the time.

Likely due to missing on others on their board. Need numbers whether they fit perfect or not at this point. Portal season has been…. Interesting.
