That’s a great get, especially with two years available

Can we create and pin a thread so people can continue talking about how bad we are recruiting the portal, how we are broke, and how Alabama is a farm team. Though as some point out not sure how we would be a farm team if we cannot develop them as some think.

Either way let’s focus on players in portal and those that UA is potentially in it for in this thread. The negative posters take it out of this thread please along with the armchair expert coaches

What is the fascination with making this into other Bama football fan sites where critical discussion is not allowed?

Yeah this is great news. We have locked down our starting OL (depending on Sanders stepping up at Guard).

Bait? What are you talking about?

You claimed CFR only had experience “in the weightroom and no resume”. When in fact he had been a successful SEC DL coach for multiple seasons prior to CNS hiring him.

Then you proceed to name Miggy from OU who works with OLB’s only and the guy at AU, who really doesn’t have a resume: he was a SA/GA at Liberty and Analyst at AU for 1 season, as being the best DL coaches in the conference. Did I skip over anything?

This is a great addition, good work staff.

Another guy who opens up flexibility elsewhere too because if he locks up C you have Strayhorn to compete at guard and vice versa.

Transferring In (13 Total):
Josh Ford (Okie St) - TE
Caleb Woodson (VA Tech) - LB
Kaden Strayhorn (Michigan) - C
Devan Thompkins (USCw) - DL
Ethan Stangle (Syracuse) - LS
Adam Watford (North Alabama) - P
Carmelo O’Neal (Mercer) - DB
Kedrick Bingley-Jones (MS State) - DL
Lorcan Quinn (Marshall) - K
Ty Haywood (Michigan) - OT
Noah Rogers (NC State) - WR
Caleb Smith (Washington) - DL
Racin Delgatty (Cal Poly) - C

I'm pretty happy with this so far. We needed to focus on OL and DL, and we did.

Yes, huge get!
Really need Terrance Green to solidify the DL. I think he is the most impactful guy player left on their board. Landing Green would be huge imo,
Then I would like to see them close with:
- Backup Edge
- 1 LB
- I more IOL (depth piece)

If we can get Terrance Green and find another decent edge we have DL sorted for the most part as well.

Yep. Just close with Terrance Green. He’s a difference-maker and the 3-tech position is the thinnest in the DL currently.

In the immortal words of Winston Wolf lets not start jer.... well lets just wait to see it play out in the fall.

Something like this going into camp?
LT: Lloyd / Haywood
LG: Sanders / Strayhorn / Delgatty
C: Waldrep / Strayhorn / Delgatty
RG: Haywood / Lloyd / Poe
RT: Carroll / Fretwell

Our OL and (sometimes) RB units have been hyped up by fans, media, and even PFF each of the last 2 years. I’ll believe they’re finally good again when I see it

I don’t think we’ll sign any more starter quality LB, staff seems to really like Jones and QB and a couple incoming freshman have some potential position versatility

Less than 5 hours until the portal closes

Im not saying they cant end up solid, but on paper that would be our worst ILB group going into next season since well back into the Shula era.

He’s got a lot of experience but I’m always worried about how LOS guys transition between subdivisions.

Hey man, I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t see it.

Would love for the staff to surprise me and snag an experienced inside backer.
