We still haven’t addressed the 2 biggest needs for the OL: Kapilovic and Ballou.

Is DeBoer going to double down on these two and bet his job on them?

This is good because it was being suggested we had a couple more guys who were leaning towards leaving.

Who? They could still have put in to transfer. The schools have until Sunday to process their paperwork.

Proctor did not move anyone all year. Not saying he won’t be drafted high because of his measurables but he was hardly a dominate lineman and was pretty inconsistent at tackle. He will probably end up a guard in the league.

You're getting downvoted by the by the rah rah bootlickers but you're absolutely correct. A LT as large and athletic is Proctor is should be the cornerstone of a dominant running game, especially in short yardage situations.

Think of the dominant LTs we've had through the last 15 years that were absolute bulldozers in the running game. Proctor just isn't that guy, be can't move anyone off of the ball consistently.

That fact isn't up for debate.

I could see him keeping Ballou but I find it very hard to believe he keeps Kap. It’s not like he followed him from UW and he has been terrible!

Say what you will but bama is a top tier developmental program for future transfers to OSU and the Texas schools. Kidding … sorta

Not sure I want Bama to be the Birmingham Barons or Stallions of college football.

We have done a fantastic job reinforcing our OL. We have clear starters and a nice battle at OT.

If we can get Terrence Green and another EDGE we would have addressed our line issues on bith sides of the ball.

We pretty much are set everywhere. Could get another LB, WR or RB.

Wish we kept Smoothers but hopefully Crowell matches his hype (Keelon as well).

We couldn’t afford cam Coleman so is what it is. If the top 4 remain healthy we are fine but if 2 of them get hurt it will cost us some games unless we figure out the run game in a big way.

Unless there’s a delay in their paperwork they’re out of time

An experienced RB out of the portal would have been nice but I think Dear and Crowell potential coming out of HS if they meet it could be like our backfield during the first NC runs under Saban. Especially if the OL reset we did works out.

Hill seems more like a HB type of
Player than a pure RB

Agreed. Seems a lot of posters on here are STILL blinded by his potential and ignore his production. He had the physical tools to be among Alabama’s elite LT’s of all time. But he never connected that to desire and a mean streak. If you could have grafted Dickerson’s mean streak into Proctor, you would have had one of the top 3 LT’s ever at Bama.
It concerns me a bit that Brooks bio sounds almost identical to Proctor. Maybe he is just to be a depth piece/short yardage specialist this year as they work on his fundamentals.

Omg the whining of wanting coaches be gone. Y'all just can't understand the logic sense behind it. You can't fire the coach during the portal. Now that it closed last night, give it a week or so. Fans like this are embarrassing at time because they want to have it their way.

X: Meadows / Morgan
H: Brooks / Rogers
Z: Williams / Scott

Obviously we need some numbers but there are tons of guys in the portal currently who can fill out roster from a depth perspective and a few who can even push to break the two deep and have a role like Adams did last year.

As long as Williams gets his head right and becomes that true WR1 deep threat we need I think Meadows and Morgan can be huge in this offense assuming our QB can get them the ball in windows which Mack has already shown the ability to do and we have every reason to believe KR can do based on his HS film.

Yes. Injuries can and will happen . Mentioned earlier I think LSU had 14 WR last year . Don’t think we can make that many happy but we need at least 4 more IMO

Alabama just needs to sign some FCS WRs with good production and experience at that level. We need depth at WR that we can trust if they're called into action, not top-tier playmakers.

The Yale WR I saw on here several days ago would be an interesting add in that respect.

There are several FCS WRs who made it big in the NFL. Cooper Kupp won the triple crown for receivers in 2021 and he's from Eastern Washington.

The carnage at the lower levels for coaches has to be insane.

First the elite teams raid the lower teams.
Then the P4 teams backfill their losses.
Then the G5 type teams have to fill out their roster.
Next the FCS teams have to be restocking from the D2/D3 ranks and backfilling with failed guys from the higher levels.
Only then can a D2/D3 team start to build a roster based on the leftovers with very little in the way of analysts to sort through tape and zero NIL.

Tough way to make a living for coaches grinding at the lower levels IMO and zero long term incentive to develop players anymore because they'll just be gone the following year if they flash on tape and no one will sign until all the higher tiers are full because theyre waiting on scholarship money or better opportunities to attract NIL potentially.

I DO understand the need to keep Kapilovic until the portal closed. News flash, the portal closed at midnight and we appear to have addressed our needs at OL. So let’s not pussyfoot around and let other schools get a head start on hiring coaches we may have targeted. Kap should have his walking papers by Sunday night at the latest.

Why is Ballou still there? He had little if anything to do with pulling guys out of the portal. There is a very suspicious pattern of Alabama getting softer and less physical every year under his tenure. Strength and conditioning for the off season has already started. He should have already been replaced but it’s not too late. IMHO, keeping him would be a mistake, but I’m not in charge. But this is just a message board. I am allowed to express my opinion. Lord knows there’s plenty of posts and posters on here with more outlandish ideas than mine.

Lighten up, Francis, and go change your tampon.
