Cole “Screw you guys. I’m going to go catch punts and stand there, somewhere else.” Adams

Our special teams have not been good and people think that when I say that I mean "missed too many field goals and short punts" but it is really worse than that.

I don't think we blocked a punt return worth a damn for two seasons. I think the only returns we've had were due to severe talent disparity in our favor or a big frick up by the opponent. Kickoffs have been bad both in terms of fair catch/return approach and blocking.

Take the 25 and avoid the block in the back penalty or being tackled at the 15.

Consider for a moment that these paid players don't even want to be on special teams.

If our guys who are covering the punting teams gunners do a lousy job blocking (which is why Adams seldom got a return), it won’t matter who is the returner. Don’t believe me, go back and watch pretty much every punt. By the time Adams fielded the punt, there were almost always 2-3 guys right on top of him 99% of the time.

You’re right…not sure I’ve ever seen a year when the punt return blocking has consistently been so bad.

We also regularly fricked up on kick and punt coverage. Whoever is responsible for coaching special teams has done a comprehensively terrible job.

That’s a list of very average WR’s and shows you how much Saban had slipped at the end. I would love to see that for every single position group.

I’ve been saying that for several years. Returns to the 27 or 28 just aren’t worth the risk. Add in penalties and their frequency on special teams and it’s a chance I wouldn’t take.
I dont often say I agree with the NFL, but they do kickoffs better and even that shite is boring. I’d rather they did away with kickoffs in general like little league. It’s a fricking waste of time

Punt coverage has been okay this year for the most part. Mostly because the punts only travel 30 yards and we hope for a good roll

I'd show that to people who swear Alabama has the most talented roster in CFB. 4 yrs of recruits at the wr position and none of them stuck. Be curious to see the breakdowns for other position groups as well.

Return to kicking off from the 40 and every kickoff will be a touchback and save the F running.

The touchback will start from the 20.

I just saw some speculation from some Ohio St fans that Justin Hill was on their campus today. That'd take the piss outta me.

That class of Brooks, Hall, Earle, and Leary were supposed to be the next rideouts. They were #2, #5, #6, and #10 ranked in their class. Insane that not a one of them lived up to their ranking.

Well you can still say they were rideouts as they rode their arse out the program.

Less than 48 hours, almost 32% of all college football players are in the portal…wow!

Absolutely ridiculous. We’ve turned this sport into introduction to being a mercenary. I have a real problem rooting for players when you can count the number of players who are at Alabama because they love it on one hand. Can we please have a governing body to stop some of this stupid shite?
