Dear Diary... Nope, wrong thread SEC fans...

EDIT 1/18 6:24PM: Did anyone hear Patrick Smith [co-creator of Paul Finebaum Show] state Bama players wanted more money for being in the Rose Bowl a few weeks ago. I hope this is wrong, so LSU fans can run with it.

Wonder who they were. Regardless, we've been infected with the LSU's opt-out virus and it's highly contagious. Looking forward to supporting those who are dedicated to the cause.

Good news: Former Washington QB Austin Mack commits to Alabama SEC/ShiteRant

EDIT 1/18 11:30AM: This morning on JOX, with national media picking up on players who have left, Cole and Mac pointed out the good news happening down at Tuscaloosa.

Greg believes the players who stay are starting to harden, showing a pride for the program as others leave. He believes these guys are up to the task and becoming leaders - who he expects will show incoming transfers and underclassmen the 'Bama' standard better than what has been demonstrated in recent history. He mentioned every program risks getting 'too comfortable or complacent', and it's clear this is forcing a shake-up. He still believes, Bama can make a run for the playoffs, because the bar of entry has been lowered. We shall see.

Cole discussed how Wommack is a great recruiter and has connections with the everything in the lower half of Alabama, Gulf coast, etc. We are reminded that USA beat Oki State coached by Mullet-man Mike Gundy, 33-7 this last season, meaning Wommack knows how to coach. Perhaps Texas should have played Wommack's team for the B12 faux championship. But then Deboer wouldn't have had that win over Texas... so I guess it all works out.

EDIT 1/17 9PM: Not going to sugarcoat it for you, fans of other programs. The pain Bama takes now, may result in a new era of domination later. Already, players [including those who are on the fence], are seeing a young, vibrant energy being brought by coach Deboer and his staff. Think of it like Joey Freshwater - but with adults and results [well, and minus playing doctor w/ co-eds, coaches' daughters and boosters wives].

In a recent ESPN article (posted elsewhere, I'm not doing your homework for you) -
quote:

Junior offensive guard Tyler Booker, who has started at Alabama since his freshman season, understands that the reality of college football in the transfer portal/NIL era is that players come and go, especially when a coach of Saban's caliber retires.

"I want to wish them well wherever they go, but just because Coach Saban is gone, that doesn't mean the standard is gone. He taught us that standard," Booker said. "It really comes down to, 'Why did you come to the school?' I came to Alabama obviously to play for Coach Saban and play to his standard, to be challenged every day and be held accountable by my teammates, the people in this building and the fans.

"No amount of money could buy me away from Alabama and my legacy here."

Also, as Deboer lays off Alabama staff include former LSU QB and (also former) Bryant-Denny grounds-keeper, Zach Mettenberger. Additionally, former Texas coach Charlie Strong among others have been let go.

As a X media site [formerly known as Twitter] post said...

The reform school for coaches who cant coach good has been shuttered.

I'd feel bad for the fans of other programs but you're too busy circle-jerking each-other off in the SEC rant.

BACK TO OUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM...

For all of those fans of other programs, There is only one King and you are in his message board, so TAKE a knee.

Yes, Instead of being RickRolled, you've just been BamaRolled -- like most of your programs on the field.

You see, no matter what you think, The Crimson Tide has a considerable advantage to the peasants in the SEC.

Looking for something melt worthy to post about in the SECrant?.... OMG, OMG, OMG... just look at most of your programs atrocious records against the Alabama. 425 wins to 203 losses, in all time.

For all of those fans, that's where the melt is. Even if Bama isn't in the hunt next season, this program will never be down long.

NOW GTF OUT. Bama owns you and always will. That is all.

The bad news for a majority of the idiots that post on this site is that Alabama will have a top 4 roster and a top 2 coaching staff in the league. The joyless murderball era is over, but the beatings will continue for most of them.

There won’t be a 40 year drought between Championships either. To quote Rolando McClain, who uttered these words 17 years after our most recent title at the time: “We Alabama cuz the way we do shite”

Well said captainFid. Booker is an example of what instilling the Bama standard can do for individual players and a team.

Repeatedly changing the name of the thread so that they accidentally click it again is hilarious.
