We have lost two of our top guys from those classes Alfonso and Eyabi Anoma... I have heard Scooby isn't happy either and seems to keep messing up. Top that with the misses we have had on key targets and the ones we will have this year.. Gilbert, Webb.. Ect. That one good class isn't so glamour anymore. Bryce will help, but we need some stud WR to throw too.. and a Solid TE. We really need a D too.. During our run we only had one or two teams we really competed with on recruits now its 4 just in the SEC.. the gap has closed and I dare to say UGA has more talent now with the classes they pulled in, and Clemson is building a strong case as well. I do think Saban has atleast one more in him, but its going to be one of his hardest to win. Especially if our coordinators are over matched as well.

Did I miss the recruiting years. Because Richt at UGA pretty much got every kid instate he wanted while at UGA during these same years. I guess Meyer and UF were not doing well either. Lets now forget FSU and how Winston went there. Even Spurrier beat us out for top recruits.

What 4 is beating us out now? LSU has always gotten players we wanted.Does not matter who is at UGA as their state is loaded. Maybe Pruitt gets 1 or 2 here now and again. But who else because I do not see other teams bringing in stellar classes. aTm has yet to affect us on the recruiting trail.

And in regards to Clemson that is just part of the cycle. We have seen several teams have great recruiting stretches.

Not to mention some of you are starting to sound more and more like Sean. Saban's 1st 5 classes(starting with 2008 as he had a whole year to recruit) had a total of 15 5 stars during those 3 title years. The 2007 class had none by the way. Out of those 1st recruiting classes only one finished #1. The 2008 class had 3 5 stars. Julio and two was outs in BJ Scott and T Love.

We should have a strong OLine next year. Who all leaves and who stays will have a lot to say about it but if you look at the roster we should be able to put a good one together I would think.

Hard to say there is no talent when we are top 5 recruiting every year

The recruiting rankings are irrelevant. The output is everything.

You are right. That is coaching . Talent is there or every other major program and recruiting service missed too., To say there is no talent on this roster is not realistic

Young D linemen are very talented IMO

I think we'll have an outstanding team next year, especially if we add an elite WR (Jarrett) and TE (Washington) who are college ready, and I like our chances with them. Harris at Mike/Mack, Kaho or Kennedy at Will. (Imo, Lee will need to trim down and get faster to keep his job). We'll be loaded at OLB, DL & DB. Our OL, RBs, WRs, TEs and QB will be excellent. Depth Distribution

There is a talent decline at Bama. Denial isn't a plan. You have to assume all these talented Jr's will move on as well and with that the decline will be even more evident.

Next year will hurt with personnel turnover. Losing 2 all time greats in Jeudy and Tua and a host of other very good skill position players will force Sark back to the shop to rework how Bama plays offense. This young D will have a lot of experience in the front 7 and some more depth. Secondary will be a ?. But, maybe we get our PK back and a dependable punter and can get back to power/field position football with a suffocating defense. Realistically though, I think we're staring at ~2 losses before a NC quality rebound in 2021.

That said, Bama will still have a top 3 team in overall talent in 2020. The real talent decline IMO has been at the assistant coach and coordinator levels.

Some of that is turnover, but the hires just do not seem as good at game plan and player preparation, development and adjustments.
