Driving a bus while you’re sick isn’t trying to make the country better. That’s being selfish and only looking out for yourself

So your response to the government and his employer not providing him with the means to survive missing at least a couple of weeks of work is that he should move to another country, when it's pointed out that he's a bus driver who obviously couldn't afford to miss work and definitely can't afford to move to another country your response is "well that's his fault and he made bad decisions in life", and now you are saying he is being selfish by looking out for himself. Do you just not see the problem with this line of thinking or are these your honest beliefs? Because what you are essentially saying is that neither our government nor our employers bear responsibility for ensuring we can afford to miss work due to illness and the people who can't afford to miss work due to illness are selfish if they don't put themselves in financial peril for the rest of us.

Jefferson County remains the county with the largest number of cases at 257. Madison County has the next highest amount of cases at 96.

Approximately 6,531 people have been tested, according to ADPH. 59 out of the 67 counties in Alabama have confirmed cases.

It is great to make assumptions based on your political opinion on how things should work but lets add some facts here.

The job is a government job and I may not be familiar with what that entails in other states but in Wake County it is pretty good for even a bus driver. For you socialists out there they start out with the so called living wage and most make around 50000 a year. Not bad for a bus driver. They also receive vacation and sick days as well as health insurance.

But if you do not think it is selfish of him to put others at risk you are a fool. It is not like this was prior to the virus being out there. Wake County was the first county in the state to see large numbers in the beginning.

I love how people with their socialists ideals want this country to take care of them. And these so called employers(businesses) have one purpose and that is to make a profit. A profit not designed for your well being other then to give you an opportunity to earn a wage. That is their only responsibility to anyone they hire.

What is even funnier is a person with socialists ideals which believes that business should not profit at the expense of their employers will yet justify a bus driver making money over the well being of others to avoid a financial peril, the same thing they criticize a business for.

Alright fellas, let's get this thread back on track. We can have a geopolitical discussion in a different thread. Let's keep this one focused on the state of Alabama as much as we can.

I don't think anyone minds you bringing testing numbers from North Carolina, or any other state for that matter, into the thread.

The entire story about him having to work with corona because the government isn’t giving him proper benefits is completely fabricated. No one knows why he did it so stop trying to pass fiction as fact.
If we are goin to make up shite and pass it as facts then this is my story of the driver. He’s a sick frick who gets his rocks off driving a bus. So much so that he put everyone’s lives in danger just so he could get his “fix” of driving.

See how easy it is to make a story up

Now back to corona

ADPH says there are 18 reported deaths and 13 died from COVID-19.

quote:

Reported Deaths and Deaths From This Illness represent the number of individuals who have a positive lab result and are now deceased. To count a person who died from COVID-19 disease, the medical record of the deceased person has to be reviewed by a physician and Infectious Disease and Outbreak staff. Once review is complete, if the death is attributed to COVID-19, the individual will also appear in Deaths From This Illness. Reported death totals are cumulative and will never decrease.

Friend's uncle died over the weekend they think from Covid. His test results weren't back yet when he died. He had a lot of underlying health issues though, mostly from old age. He was almost 90. Not sure how they're going to classify his death.

I think some of the deaths are going reported as something else just from lack of testing. Any deaths related to pneumonia or respiratory failure should be eyed suspiciously as possibly being linked to COVID19 and just not known.

Yeah, he had pneumonia-like symptoms and had tested negative for the flu. He went downhill pretty quickly.
