I keep waiting for the Mobile numbers to jump up exponentially. Their number seems too small.

Tuscaloosa screwed up a bunch of test. I wonder if they’ve gotten those folks back in to take it again?

Just 0.014% of the population of the state of Alabama. We're all gonna die!!

That’s 700 people that are sick and some of those could die. Might not mean much to you, but I guarantee the families will be concerned

I linked that bastion of conservative beliefs, The Washington Times.
From the opening of the Wiki page on the Washington Times:
The Washington Times was founded on May 17, 1982, by Unification movement leader Sun Myung Moon and owned until 2010 by News World Communications, an international media conglomerate founded by Moon. It is currently owned by Operations Holdings, which is owned by the Unification movement.[4][5]
Throughout its history, The Washington Times has been known for its conservative political stance.[6][7][8][9] It has published many columns which reject the scientific consensuses on climate change,[10][11][12] on ozone depletion,[13] on the harmful effects of second-hand smoke,[14][15] and which have spread misinformation regarding the 2019-2020 coronavirus outbreak.[16] It has drawn controversy for publishing racist content, including commentary and conspiracy theories about U.S. President Barack Obama,[17][18] supporting neo-Confederate historical revisionism,[19] and promoting Islamophobia.[20]
Yep, the Washington Times apparently is crazy and evil, yep.
By the way, i should have lumped FoxNews in with any other similar extreme Right-wing propaganda tool, as well as any news of any kind on facebook. Avoid it all. Much of it is actually created and distributed by Russian government operatives, i.e. the modern Cold War in which they are winning.

Well, when you consider the number of confirmed cases, along with all undiagnosed cases that are surely out there, plus every potentially exposed person, the number gets pretty concerning.

Governor Ivey and the state school superintendent will announce at 4pm CDT whether schools will reopen this school year or not.

At least some of them. My cousin's wife got her positive test result yesterday after having had to retake it thanks to DCH.

Thank you. They have 2 kids under 5 which are the big concern. The dumb part of all this is she was pretty much back on her feet by the time she found out she was actually positive. Thankfully they were already treating her as if she was, but now my cousin and the boys have to hold their breaths and monitor themselves for the next two weeks.

No way they open up this school year unless they push back into summer. Even so I doubt that

Kinda what I'm thinking. Hopefully they'll get some more e-learning set up, and have a system where kids with no computer in their homes can borrow one from their school. Our school system have been saying for 2 weeks now they were getting something set up, though none of it would be mandatory. I'm working too much right now to give my kids the structure they need. Been letting them sleep until 11. Father of the year right here.

The problem with that is you still have a county where students lack internet at home. I'm assuming there will be some sort of distance learning set up, with some sort of accomodations for those kids.
Also, don't be too hard on yourself, man. You've still got to get your work done.

Glad to hear she is ok and hope the rest of the family stays healthy. Dealing with Social Distancing and quarantines can drive you up the wall.

Admins/mods, can we PLEASE get an ignore function on this forum so we can't opt of seeing the partisan hackery in important (or any) threads?
Who do we have to speak to in order to make this happen?

I have allergies, the flu (second day of having a wonderfully high fever), rotator cuff on my left shoulder is screwed up and having to deal with folks over the phone instead of in person (I hate doing things over the phone). I’m going crazy and my fuse is at an all time low.
