This Jeff Co press conference is a cluster. They won’t actually say the details of the new order.

Rumor is all non-essential things will be shutdown starting tomorrow in Jeff Co.

What is considered "non-essential?"

If they shut down Hop City before I can get there I'm going to riot.

Wait until they tell everyone to "shelter in place" until further notice.

Main thing in the new Jefferson County appears to be limiting gathers to no more than 10 people.

There are a lot of things not included in JeffCo’s non-essential list.

Good.

What's the point of an economic stimulus package if you can't buy anything due to closures?

Seriously, how can they do this, yet Mercedes ( I know that's in Tuscaloosa county) still has 1000's onsite, altogether at any given moment?

You can have 1000 people in the same building but without having a gathering of more than 10 people if the building is large enough.

Rent, utilities, food. Some people are out of work due to business closings or bc they are already immunocompromised and cannot risk this. They still have to pay for the essentials of life.

Except stimulate sellers on Amazon who were selling cans of soup for $20 a can.

Even though I think Amazon is limiting what is being sold now. But still it is crazy.

I understand that, but that's not the intent of the package.

Most states like NC have said no evictions or foreclosures during this outbreak.

utilities

FCC already stated no internet or phone can be disconnected and communication is key for information and keeping people at home.

Plus companies like Duke Energy has already stated no disconnection.

Seems many organizations including restaurants are helping with this all over the country. Especially with children who already receive free lunches.

Not to mention most financial institutions are helping with loans and other items due and eliminating late fees and working with people. Who I have a my car loans through have already sent out emails and statements.

Do you think those payments are not still going to be due when this ends? Even if Al said no evictions (they haven't), that's temporary. All those bills are still going to be owed when those emergency orders end.

Well grocery stores and things are deemed essential. I mean other services and industries that are not necessary for survival that are not included.

Again, I get that. Money for necessities is coming from a different bill. The stimulus package is meant to stimulate the lagging economy.
