Honestly, it might be time to look at the JC ranks for players. Most of the best ones are already signed but there are still a few left. We’re (sadly) at the point where we’re being left with crumbs.
Honestly, we’re in this situation because either:
1. Courtney Morgan is incompetent and getting schooled or refuses to adapt to the changing nature of the portal.
OR
2. We’re broke and have almost no NIL game.
OR
3. The staff hasn’t figured out a good sales pitch to portal players as opposed to HS recruits (which they’ve done well with). I don’t think you can use the same sales pitch.
I know this is going to enrage some of our posters but it seems pretty obvious to me. Hopefully, Morgan and CKD get this sorted quickly.

Only way to right this before it goes wrong is by paying for your own mistake literally. Letting him leave without signing a contract was absolutely fricking retarded. Sorry if already posted, but apparently our running back “commit” Smothers is eyeing up a visit to Texas.
I’m perfectly aware we don’t have a billionaire donor, but if we start losing portal guys two days after they pledge to bama then what is Courtney Morgan employed for.
For the record I think Crowell is a top 5 back in college football next year, but at some point you’ve got to let the world know you aren’t a fricking intersection transient in the portal. I refuse to believe we’re just dead broke, look around at the facilities that took booster money. It’s high time to start swinging dick or get left in the corner with the simps.

You’re correct. Tired of this we don’t have money rhetoric. You won 6 fricking national championships in 11 years. What did you do with all that money you generated? Blow it? I think Morgan needs to go. It’s obvious they are in over their head. The fact that we can’t attract quality portal players with our facilities and exposure is a huge red flag. Alabama also hasn't had to pay a coach's buyout while basically every other team in the conference has spent millions on buyouts the past decade.
Where has the money gone? Maybe the athletic dept needs to be audited.

Or maybe they’re tired of blowing money on kids that don’t produce or can’t be developed. People think it’s sustainable for colleges to keep paying $2-5 million each on players that do not progress or end up being less than elite, but it’s not. The portal and NIL are still new. Eventually some of these schools are going to crash hard after blowing their wad on players that don’t win championships because donors and boosters aren’t going to be willing to keep losing millions with nothing to show for it.

To be honest the majority of the kids in the portal that have committed already we have no clue how many of them actually signed anything yet.
