They don’t. It’s a good pass rush but it’s greatly inflated by playing really bad OLs.

For example they have 26 sacks in 4 games vs teams without winning records

Meanwhile they have just 7 sacks in 4 games vs teams with winning records. That sack avg is 9th in the SEC

Just like how their defensive numbers overall look pretty good but drop down notably when looking at just winning teams/ranked teams.

ETA: Just realized you said rush defense not pass rush

Yeah I don’t think that matters too much because every team looks like they have an elite rush defense vs our run game. It’s going to be useless as usual which is more of the same

Gotta find a way to win this game. Really hoping that our bye week was Oklahoma heavy. Gotta imagine DeBoer been focused on this one after Venables essentially stuffed us in a locker and out of the playoffs in 2024.

Venables gave this staff noogies this time. Lost a lot of respect for the staff, they didn't have these kids ready for Oklahoma at all. You can tell their speed and scheme got to our players...
