I think you guys have to start trying to predict who the hot names will be in 2 years because we’re not paying a 69 million buyout.

Maybe DeMeco will somehow be out with the Texans by then or something. Idk

Valid point. Who the hell knows where some of these coaches (viable candidates) will be in 2-3 years, I keep thinking about the fact we're in for a very, very grim 2-3 more years with this staff at the helm. By that time, the program will have been run into the dirt and whoever is Deboer's successor will have a gigantic rebuild job.

Giant rebuild jobs are easier in the portal era is the only silver lining. The biggest negative is 2-3 more years of this will really lose us the aura of “when Bama calls you answer”. We are a lot of players dream school nationally because we’ve been the Yankees of cfb. But time moves fast. In 2-3 years it’ll have been 8 years since a national title and all these kids will be all Texas, OSU, Georgia.

I think that carries us in a lot of recruiting battles. But I can remember not that long ago when we weren’t anyone’s dream school anymore and it took Nick Saban to change that.

Cowboy, you need to just drop that dynasty deal

That really ended in 2000

2000? The 2008-2023 Alabama run was the greatest dynasty in the history of the sport.

Why football fans keep tossing Chucky’s name out there for every vacancy escapes me. He was good but not THAT damn good.

Yeah. It’s just people that didn’t see his 2nd stint with the Raiders. I’m a Raiders fan and I can promise you he’s not a great coach anymore. His Super Bowl win was 2002 with Dungy’s players, then Tampa went way down hill until he was fired by them.

He becomes an analyst and people really liked him in that role. But it’s not the same as coaching. He traded away great players for draft picks and absolutely missed on almost every pick.

So you’d rather have a guy that beat UGA and LSU and got clowned by Vandy and Oklahoma?
