I think he has a good shot to win it. Cokers film is less than impressive.
cokers film is fine. if you watch through his 2013 live game plays, there are only a few bad throws, and his int was a pass where the receiver tipped it to a db. he was sacked 5 times in limited play against weak teams, which is indicative of some really poor 3rd string oline play. at least 4 of his incompletions are tips at the line because the line just lets the D right through. at least 4 more are drops or the DB just gets a good play on the ball. when he got even a little time and someone gets open he generally made the throw in 2013. he was really dangerous on the ground. Big arm, good wheels, prototype size, just needs some live snaps with the 1s. with the surrounding team on offense he will not be running for his life all the time, will get time to make reads, and with our receivers should generally have someone open to throw to.

I feel like the potential of the 2015 team (way too early though) can't be stressed enough. Yes, the talent is special, but the experience is crazy.

QB: Could be Sims, but if it is Coker, Morris, or Bateman then the starter would likely be back for in 2015.

RB: Yeldon and possibly Drake will be gone, but Henry will be back and he's going to play a LOT in 2014.

FB: No one knows

WR: Cooper, White, and Jones are gonna be gone and possibly all drafted. Robert Foster, Raheem Falkins, and Chris Black will probably take over. None of them will catch 20 balls in 2014, imo, but they'll have at least a little meaningful experience. Overall though, WR core may see some growing pains. They'll be developed, talented guys though.

TE: Junior OJ Howard, Senior Ty Smith, etc

LT: It could be anybody, but I maintain that it'll end up being C-Rob. He'll be back.

LG: Arie could easily retain his spot from 2014, but if he doesn't a guy like Grant Hill has a lot of potential here. If it is Arie, we'll need a new LG in 15.

C: Ryan Kelly will be back in 2015.

RG: Could be Grant Hill, Leon Brown, Dominick Jackson, Alphonse Taylor, Brandon Hill, or Austin Shepherd. Brown and Shepherd would be the only two options that wouldn't return in 15.

RT: Could be G Hill, Leon Brown, Dom Jackson, B Hill, or Shep. Could even be C-Rob or Brandon Greene (who could also be the LT), only Brown and Shep wouldn't return in 2015.

There are situations where all 5 guys return, some where four guys return, and some where three guys return. OL should be stacked in 15.

DE: A'Shawn, Reed, Pettway, Allen, Hand, and Liner will all be back.

NG: Lake will be back, not sure who else will actually see time at Nose other than Ivory, but Ivory won't be on the team in 2015. Frazier will probably RS in 14.

JLB: Devall will be back, in all likelihood.

ILB: DePriest will be gone, but Reub and potentially Ragland* will be back in 15.

SLB: Dillon Lee and Rashaan Evans will be back.

CB: They all back bitches. Eddie Jackson, Tony Brown, and Marlon Humphrey. Plus Cyrus Jones.

S: LC, Jarrick, and Perry will be gone. This is where we hope Geno starts at Free, then he'll be back in 15, and we hope Hootie sees plenty of PT, and he'll be back in 15.

K/P: They back

LS: Mazza back

WE STACKED WITH EXPERIENCE AND TALENT!

It'd be like the experience of the 2011 team except more upside at some positions.

My only comment about your prediction is that it is a very real possibility one of our starting WRs will get hurt allowing one of the younger guys to step up. It just seems to happen every year that a guy will be nicked up and miss about 3-4 games and one of the younger guys gets a lot of meaningful snaps. I do hate to say that though as I don't want any of our guys to be injured.

Also, Dalvin Tomlinson needs to be on that list.

Yeah definitely, and you're right, I forgot about Tomlinson. He can be a big time player for us if he gets healthy and stays healthy.

Wide receiver DeAndrew White wasn't on the field during the viewing period, but he was spotted in a black non-contact jersey, pads and shorts beforehand. He's yet to be seen doing anything but rehab activities since the start of spring practice. There's no sense in rushing him back from whatever surgery he underwent in January.
The running backs haven't changed what's apparently been working since the start of spring ball. All of the drills we saw involved the players carrying two balls. The order was: T.J. Yeldon, Derrick Henry, Kenyan Drake, Jalston Fowler, Altee Tenpenny and others.
Alabama ran through some dime during the second period of the viewing session. Trey DePriest was the main linebacker. Dillon Lee appeared to be shadowing Jarrick Williams at Star. Geno Smith was at Money. Nick Perry and Landon Collins were the safeties. Eddie Jackson and Bradley Sylve were the corners.
The quarterbacks and receivers worked on intermediate routes during one session. There didn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to the order of the quarterbacks. That's by design. Amari Cooper was leading the drills and running his routes hard.
Another observation, and I'm not alone in this: Freshman Cameron Sims is physically impressive at the receiver position.
Freshman David Cornwell continues to wear a brace on his surgically repaired knee. It doesn't appear to bother him much when he throws, but you notice it a bit when he's jogging between drills.
For the second consecutive practice, Alabama signee Keith Holcombe was spotted on the sidelines.

What's next?

No media responsibilities for Alabama's players today. They'll gather tomorrow at Bryant-Denny Stadium for an afternoon scrimmage. It's closed to the public and media.

I like Perry, hard worker, all Bama. But he's been less than impressive when he's played.

Indeed.

Henry says, NO, you may not take this ball.

I really hope the fumbling issues get stopped this season.

Henry

And is Yeldon holding two balls?

Yep. Which means, he likely did let Cochran take the ball earlier. sigh.

We need a clever nickname for Yeldon and Drake that encapsulates their fumbleitis in key moments.

I think someone on Meltdown on RBR coined them Fumbletron and Droptimus Prime. Those names seem to fit.

No need to shake your head. That simply means Lee is in with nickle and Williams steps in for dime. It also suggests that Geno is the nickle back.

It suggests that Lee is working at Star which is a position he seems ill-suited to play

The star position has outside linebacker responsibilities / characteristics. We need guys who can play in space to defend some of these QBs that have great mobility. Lee practicing there is a good thing. Versatility is a plus. The staff needs to know what he can or cannot do. If we have a SAM linebacker that can play a role typically reserved for a DB that is a good thing. It will certainly help keeping us from getting caught with our pants down when someone goes HUNH on us.

No need to try and explain to him what the Star is and what the Money is nor how they relate to the SAM and WILL
