Football may just not be Danny Lewis’s sport. Guy is hurt 95% of the time

The guy is a meme at this point.

We’ll have Latham and Brooks back from neck braces before we see Danny Lewis on the field.

It’s actually a brilliant hustle: get hurt, stay on the doubtful list your entire career, get a scholarship and rev share while telling girls you’re a starter on the football team.

He might be the smartest player on the team.

Alabama WR Ryan Williams changes name, number before 2026 season

Kind of disappointed that Brooks changed his number because it felt like watching Waddle all over again.

Also surprised no one chose #2 on offense.

Will you rename the thread something like "Official Spring Camp Thread" so I can pin it to the top of the board?

Thoughts on Alabama weight changes:

Yhonzae Pierre (6-3, 253) +5
-Continues to add mass and size. Didn’t see significant gains from Justin Hill (up to 244 from 242), but this still feels noteworthy for Pierre. With his improvement as a run defender, wouldn’t rule out him adding even more weight and playing *some* strong-side edge opposite Hill (as a semi-Bandit replacement that isn’t asked to play 4i).

Devan Thompkins (6-5, 298) +8
-Possible Thompkins plays Bandit situationally, but at 298, that feels more like what we saw from James Smith (as sort of a Bandit type at times) moreso than LT Overton. This is signaling to me that Thompkins will play 3T, but we’ll still have to wait and see once spring practice opens up today.

Daniel Hill (6-1, 236) -8
-This is an excellent sign. Hill doesn’t play like a 244-pound RB, so there’s no benefit in weighing 244. He can still be a power guy at 230-235, so I love this change — as it should add more explosiveness and signals being better conditioned in 2026.

Red Morgan (6-0, 189) +4
-Morgan continues to inch his way up as far as weight. Already plays a lot bigger than this, so nice to see a little more mass added.

Bray Hubbard (6-2, 217) +4
-I’m telling you… Hubbard is gearing up for an even heavier workload in the box, as the weight continues to climb. Will that be as a full-time, second-level linebacker? Probably not, but Alabama has plenty of options at safety and Husky, so I can see Wommack getting creative in how they utilize some of these guys — including Hubbard. We’ll see what they ends up looking like.

Caleb Woodson (6-3, 238) +8
-Now we’re talking. I said when Alabama signed Woodson that he needed to continue to add mass to better hold up against the run. Said I could see anywhere in that 235-240 range (at least) and he’s slotting right there in the middle right now. More on my LB thoughts below.

QB Reese (6-0, 229) +5
-This is still considered undersized, but it’s also in the range we saw Deontae Lawson and Justin Jefferson this past season. Luke Metz also added 3lbs. (230 to 233), but this feels even more significant for Reese and Woodson. Those are my two projected starters with Metz (and possibly Cayden Jones) pushing for LB3. Remember, we’ve seen three off-ball guys rotate under Wommack in recent years (both at Bama at USA).

Dez Zulu (6-6, 253) -2
-Don’t think Zulu is a great fit at Wolf, but we obviously didn’t see substantial gains from him. To me, that signals that he’ll play some Wolf, and then similar to maybe Pierre, could play some SDE in certain packages or situations opposite a true Wolf. Would also expect him to compete for passing down snaps, essentially replacing Keon Keeley’s role/production/impact. Granted, all this could change based on how Zulu looks in the spring.

Jireh Edwards (6-2, 221) +9
-Good heavens. Edwards is put together like a LB, but brings DB-like athleticism. To me, he’s an ideal Husky with a well-rounded skillset to defend the run, cover and get after the QB. In some ways, we should view him as an ultra-athletic 4-3 SLB, which should help against runs to the field side while also providing a backside chase option when plays go to the boundary.

Xavier Griffin (6-3, 222) +4
-Really, this is way heavier than what Griffin played at his senior year (around 205), but we had gotten a weight update from his mom not too long ago where she said he was up to 218. That means he’s continued to put on good mass. Bare minimum, I expect him to be 225 by the start of the season with a good shot at being 230-235. This is EXCELLENT news, as it would give him the size to hold up as an off-ball LB and situational edge.

Jah-Marian Latham (6-3, 270) +8
-Will need to see what these gains mean. Could just be weight gained recovering from injuries, or it could signal a move back to Bandit. We know Latham is capable of playing Wolf at this size too because he did it at 278 in 2024, but right now, Latham feels like a Bandit while Zulu feels like a Wolf.

Cedarian and Crowell have put on a lot of weight since the jump from HS.

Morgan at 220+lbs will be a monster.
