Saban said today Greene performance at TE do far gave them the ability to move Fanning back.

And I know those are my words regarding Fanning, but I'm one of the same people who questions why Pagan gets more hype than a returning starter in Stinson. Pagan got on the coaches 2nd team ALL SEC WITH Stinson, without starting a game in his career.

People are gonna hype Robinson up because he's an out of state 5* that Bama has rarely gotten on the DL. They're excited...

Not real sure why we are giving Sims all these snaps at QB. No way he is our QB of the future, and if he is we are in deep crap in 2014. He can run but he is a terrible passer. Seems to me it would be wiser to get guys like Morris and Bateman all those snaps since those guys are much more likely to be our QB's of the future....but what do I know? Trust in Saban, I know.

CNS has said that Sims is the back-up until someone takes the job from him. Apparently no one has so Sims gets the reps

ETA: but I do understand your sentiment. I'm disappointed that Morris hasn't moved ahead of BS

I'm wondering who else played NG after Ivory went out, Lake and ...? Has anyone tacked down where Robinson plays as of now? He may not have a choice.

Love and Ball were out, Ivory went out, and even Pagan, who use to backup there, was out. Frightening...

Drake didn't have a great day today.

He came in as the 5th back - think probably to get some other guys looks with the 1st and 2nd units.

In order of appearance:

Yeldon
Henry
Hart
Tenpenny
Drake

He also fumbled the ball inside our own 5 during situational drills was immediately pulled out.

Offensive line still struggling, but I like Arie at right tackle much better than Shepherd.

A'Shawn Robinson got most of his reps with the 2nd defense. Kid's going to be good.

Reuben Foster DESTROYED Tenpenny for a loss. Easily the hardest hit I've ever seen at a scrimmage. It was sick.

Had a lot of penalties and dropped balls today. AJ was very frustrated. On the plays he got good protection, it seemed like none of his receivers were open. I thought our secondary had a good day today overall.

Blake Sims gives us the biggest threat offensively as the #2 guy, but he's so inconsistent.

Luke Del Rio took snaps as the #3 QB, but looked awful. I counted 3 different occasions in which he turned the wrong way to hand the ball off and had to run for his life on a busted play.

OJ Howard got thrown to A BUNCH. He's going to be very good. Got a lot of reps with the first offense.

Cade Foster did not have a very good day today. Missed a couple, and had one blocked.

Not that hard to figure out: Sims knows the playbook, has been in the system, and is very athletic. I think his awfulness is overblown on here. We could run the read option with him and still have a very productive offense, IMO.

Seems that the one thing that could hold him back will end up holding him back. Kinda sucks as I was hoping he would be able to put it all together.

Blake reportedly threw 3 picks today, but based on the notes I read from the presser, its more a decision-making thing than anything. Even so, the staff seems to be settled on him sticking at #2, so we may as well get behind him and hope he continues to develop.

The kid can play, so if he can keep his composure, then maybe he can do a little something this year in relief. It's a bit ironic though comparing the two (Drake/Blake) as they both have the ability, but just cant seem to get over the hump. Kinda makes me wanna

What if any did you see of the La kids visiting Tuscaloosa did CRob (red shirt Alabama across front) look like he was having fun?

I am STOKED about ROOB and A'Shawn. AR was at the wrong position in HS hoping we see him wrecking shop in mop up duty

CNS on Greene

quote:

"He’s a very athletic guy for his size and runs halfway decent for his size, too, and has really good hands – was a high school basketball player," Saban said after Saturday's scrimmage. "And he’s really heavy on the edge. So he’s a really, really good blocker and I think can be an adequate possession receiver as a tight end."

On Fanning

quote:

"Since (Fanning) came back yesterday to defense, he’s done a really good job for us," Saban said. "I think he might be a guy who can give us an inside pass rush. He’s a big ole’ tall guy with long arms. He did it yesterday and was effective. So we’re hoping that he can continue to develop in that regard."

Today we gave Luke Del Rio a chance,” Saban said of the invited walk-on from Highlands Ranch, Colo. “We practiced him this week a lot, gave him some reps. Last week it was Alec. Alec and Cooper (Bateman) both played today as well.”

quote:

Blake’s probably taken 10 percent. In both scrimmages, Blake played one series. Had a pretty good series. They moved the ball downfield and kicked a field goal today when Blake was in there

quote:

“Blake’s biggest problem is forcing the ball,” Saban said. “He actually played pretty well today, but he threw three interceptions. And they were all what I call ‘hope’ throws. A guy wasn’t really open. He was just hoping the guy was going to make a play. The defensive player made the play, because the guy was really covered. “If he can eliminate those, I think he can be an effective passer. He’s really improved in that regard. So it’s really the next guy that we really need to decide on.”

Like Ape said, sounds like BS is locked in as the back-up with everyone else competing for 3rd string

too many INT's. He will only be a change of pace guy but if AJ goes down I bet he is not the long term answer. his passing decisions will lose some games. He has been in the system too long to force throws that give up pics. Force him to be the long term answer they will stack the box daring him to throw
