Bump for thrashing of Vanderbilt.

automatic bid is only way to tournament, considering bama went 12-4 and didn't qualify
I wanna know what the rumors are. Who's in the know? Is he getting axed or getting retained? How hot is his seat from the AD's perspective? SIAP TIA

@ESPNLunardi: Something like 11-7. “@thebengeorge: @ESPNLunardi What conference record would Alabama need to get back on the bubble?”
That'd put our record at 16-14. Idk how that'd get us on the bubble but I'd take it.

When CC has 1500 fans for a SEC game Coach Battle will start the process . Butts in the seats = the bottom line.

I think we are keeping him around to make our football program look that much better. That's the only reason I can think of.

This is usually the point of the year where Grant keeps his job status healthy. Bama makes a run and beats up on some bad SEC teams, a couple of road wins, and beat one decent team. Then.... Get bounced out of the NIT.

@CecilHurt: FINAL: Georgia 66, Alabama 58. Alabama now 0-8 when opponent scores 66 points or more.

Now Grant is imitating Gottfried: 0-6 away from home this year.
if you can't beat Georgia on the road, there aren't many chances left to win on the road.

Well he can't do that by losing to UGA. That's for sure.
Posted on 1/11/14 at 5:18 pm to Bryant91092
That's what I am saying. He can't even do that anymore.

At this point. The Worst thing that can happen to Alabama Basketball is a turnaround which ends up putting us on the bubble. Why? Because that secures Grant another year and he needs to be gone ASAP. I can't cheer against us, (ever) but I can just not waste my afternoons and stop paying attention.
This charade needs to end and the rebuilding process needs to start.... Sorry Grant, this thing needs to end....by page 4!!!

Saw this post on BOL:
All according to warren nolan.
6-31 vs RPI Top 50 (at Bama) (0-5 this year, 0-6 LY)
21-15 vs RPI 51-100
35-13 vs RPI 101-200
29-1 vs RPI 201+
91-60 overall
So, 27-46 vs T100 teams. Throw out the extreme trash (201+) and he is 62-59.
Further breakdown on the T50 as I don’t expect to beat top 10-15 teams regularly:
3-18 vs T25
**3-13 vs 26-50 -
- 1-11 vs T50 on the road (@UT in ’10-’11 is only win)
- 18 straight T50 losses including 10 straight T20
I also saw later in that thread from Chris Walsh that Grant would be owed 1.9 million per year until 2019 if he were to be fired. I thought most contracts were written to where there would be a buyout number for termination, but I guess his didn't include that.

Just read an article that his 2012 extension (through 2019) included a reduction in his buyout to 500k for the final four years of his contract. The article was poorly written but without seeing the contract I hope this means that that 1.9 million per year until 2019 is not correct anymore.

I think that meant if he were to leave on his own will or be hired by another school, that's what would be owed from him to us.
