A loss to a team ranked 5/6 in the country is a logical time for a bump.

At some point he needs to actually win games against tough competition.

Agreed, but bumping this thread after that game is ridiculous. Our best players played terrible, and we had a chance to win in the final few minutes against a top 5 team.

I don't disagree. IMO, he hasn't had a marquee win in his whole tenure here. Doesn't change the fact that this bump was stupid.

I'm a Grant fan, mostly because I WANT him to be successful here. We aren't going to hire anyone better, that's a fact. I really dig our D, as always.

Also, if anyone wants, or thinks, we'd hire Bruce Pearl, I'd love to kick you in the dick. You dumb.

Didn't think we beat them that year. I thought both times we beat them at home, they weren't very good.

But I guess that 2010-2011 win could be his one good win if we're searching everywhere for positives.

We have beaten plenty of tourny teams, just not that big name team...

and the UK 2010 finished 29-9 with Bledsoe, Wall & Cousins.

I've had this discussion with guys on another board but I'd like to know how many times we've beaten a team under Grant where we were the underdog. It seems like we play everyone close, but we can't get that big win and lose to a couple teams we shouldn't which is why we keep falling in the NIT.

Our defense is good enough to keep us in close games with teams that are better than us, but our shooting is never good enough to get us the win. And our offense is just shite in general, so when they have a really off night against a bad team there is a really good chance that we pick up a 150+ RPI loss. If you can take away driving lanes and avoid turnovers, you can beat us, no matter how shitty you may be. We have no consistent inside presence and one guy who is dangerous from outside.

I would like to say its completely Grants fault but these kids aren't what we thought they would be coming out of high school. Hopefully the shooters this year coming in play like they did in high school.

Forget the recruits. We will finally have a true power forward next year. That will be great to see.

The thing that bothers me is while we play extremely hard, we always seem to miss too many free throws, easy shots, & front ends( by the way I feel like you should get an automatic 2 misses when you miss a front end).
But hey, they played real hard.

I think we know what Anthony Grant is at this point. His teams will play pretty good defense and absolutely horrendous offense. This will result in 0 impressive wins and several bad losses per year resulting in an NIT birth. He needs to be shown the door.

I would be ecstatic if we brought T.R. Dunn home. He deserves a lot of the credit for that SEC Championship team in the early 2000s.

I don't care what people think of Bruce Pearl. He is top talent and that's what I want for Bama.

Pearl has served his time, let it go. I'd fire grant and hire Pearl the day he is back on the market.
