Honestly every time a GA gets hired, that is more potential coach to come back in a few years. Good for Miller and for us

Did any of you read the Feldman article on The Athletic site? Indicated Enos slipped out of the building without letting Saban know. Saban found out when he didn’t show up for a meeting. Unfortunately goes on to interview several former assistants who give varying degrees of feedback on working for Saban. Obviously a couple of butthurt former assistants interviewed. Pretty much says Stoutland loves Saban, but isn’t coming back because he doesn’t want to work that hard.

lol I posted almost all of the relevant quotes in this thread...
Also we as a fanbase have to get over being upset every time an assistant says something we don't want to hear about working for Saban. Most of those quotes are benign and nothing worse than we would say about a superior we worked for.

There is only one coach on staff today that was with Nick during the years 07,08,09,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,and 17. Joe P.

He did a fine job with the RB's this season and by all accounts is a good recruiter. I have 0 complaints.

I agree, but the fact that Saban wants him here and showed Tosh the door even with his recruiting ability tells me Saban doesn't see it as necessarily a playcalling issue.

I think Golding will be our sole DC. Nick probably told him late in the season, that's why the OU rumors were squashed.

I am fine with it because I can see him here for a few years before he moves on to a HC job, and he recruits well enough.

I doubt Lake and Golding will share Co DC titles (even in name only). Don't know about the position coaches. With Buggs (dl), Mack (lb), and Thompson (db), being the leaders of their respective groups now gone, nick can hit the reset button and start fresh in terms of coaches.

Suttles said on JOX that the new OL coach will likely be announced while they are on the air.

Said there's the possibility of a second one before 2 as well.

Tim Watts just posted a nugget saying Sal is most likely coming back to Bama to coach OLB and that Kyle Flood is the front runner for the OL job.

I get that Sark knows him from Atlanta... but damn if this isn't a kick in the nards...
Sal coming back is weird, but this probably puts the Steele rumors to bed. Are we sure it's OLB though? His DL wrecked shop for UF this past year.

I’ll give Saban and Sarkisian the benefit of the doubt on the hire. A lot of people questioned bringing in Joe Pendry as OL coach in 2007. He was most known for those awful OLs with the Texans. He’s now remembered as the best OL coach Alabama has had under Saban.

It wouldn't surprise me if Jimmy Lake is hired as DC and Golding stays at Co-DC/ILBs. Lake would likely land a HC job he'd take within 1-2 years, with Golding then better prepared to be the DC.
