I don’t know if I buy the Tosh stuff were supposed to believe he has been told to look elsewhere but wait until after NSD. That doesn’t make any sense at all. If he’s already got another job that would have come out already and he’d be recruiting fans s that team.

Maybe so, I don’t know. Assuming the rumors are true,I can only think of it 2 ways 1) maybe it is a demotion and it is his choice whether he takes it or leaves 2) NFL job???

I 100% think this is an NFL jump.
My theory is that Tosh is self aware enough to realize that he isn't ready to be a DC yet, but taking a demotion in college would always haunt him. So instead he goes to the NFL as a position coach or assistant position coach for a couple of years and then he can come back to CFB as a kickass recruiter and have the shine of coaching in the NFL.

Josh Gattis tweet

Anyone who has taken words from my podcast out of context as a shot on someone & a program I have tremendous respect for is completely wrong! Reading without listening is a complete assumption. The joke was poorly made lightly not to reflect someone I have the utmost respect for!

I completely disagree.
The following is not at any specific poster, but just using the quoted words above as a jump-off point for a group topic:
Too late for what? A pardon from the governor before the death penalty?
Gattis' words were not salacious at any point in time. And any person who makes them that is either changing what he said to fit a personal agenda or just crazy.
This is the way athletes and coaches talk, and really any fella of a certain manliness wil speak fondly of his previous coaches/mentors and tell a great story about some time they got reamed up one side and down the other. There's nothing scandalous about a lovable hardass, which Saban seems to be. And there's nothing wrong with telling it like it is.
Far, FAR too frequently keybord warriors start declaring what this and that definitely is and how their side was wronged. It's nonsense. Most of the time, there's no reason to be upset, and there isn't one here.
Also, you mentioned it was "too late," as if his fate had been sealed? What fate? Do you think this minor tiff is anything but a momentary blip to be instantly forgotten in the 24 hour nonstop CFB "news" cycle, or that it will have some affect on his career in any way whatsoever?
Yeah, right. Like his coaching future is ruined because a fraction of a fraction of the internet twisted his words a little? The HORROR! I hope his wife has a plan be because he's fricked!
ABANDON SHIP!
Hell, I've almost forgotten about it and I haven't finished this post.
Seriously, how sensitive has the average American become?
And how many football fans never really walked in the arena of serious sport? Gattis' words couldn't possibly have been a more normal and non-insulting thing to say, given his background and profession.

yo, go take a chill pill. seriously.
too late to undo what he said dumbass. and i mean at you not at any specific other poster.
like i remarked, mouthing in media has consequences. and he will learn that such distractions can derail him.
and yes, he could have taken saban's name as well instead of saying someone.
and yes, there is professional etiquette involved.

Yeah, Gattis is obviously fricked now. Those consequences man. They're a comin'.

Dude, in our sport, gang rape barely derails anyone's career, ahem Baylor. No one who matters gives one mosquito shite about his words. And if anyone did, then all it takes is a quick phone call to clear things up with those who do matter - ya know, because that's how the world actually works.

I get it now. You must have these people confused with Mrs. Gattis and Mrs. Saban in your quilting bee down the street. Bless your heart. You see, Sugarbottom, we're talking about football here.

instead of where the focus should be.., we are talking about his butt chewing and his non-field activities.

I saw on Art Briles wiki that he’s coaching an Italian football team.

You do realize that lots and lots of people were involved in that scandal, and nearly to a man they are all doing fine.
The AD is now the AD at Liberty.
Nearly the entire coaching staff is coaching somewhere else and their respective careers kept chugging along.
The Defensive coordinator at the time became the DC at Arizona St the very next year.
The Offensive Coordinator at the time is currently the OC at FSU.
Baylor President Ken Starr retired from public life a millionaire in 2016.
Art Briles is the only one whose career was even momentarily disrupted, and he'll be back soon.
Face it. Gattis' words, much like you, don't matter at all.

1) That was a very clever line and I'm proud of it.
2) I refer you to crimsoncarma's post above where he called me a dumbass, despite going well out of my way to not insult him, even including a disclaimer to my prior post.

My included disclaimer:

And so, I believe that my reaction to his insult was measured and appropriate, and I do not regret nor apologize for anything I said to him in any way, shape, or form.
And so, I show your words again and asked why you ignored his insult and singled me out?

Aha! You edited it to include him after I hit reply. At least you found your mistake.
Posted on 1/16/19 at 12:19 am to prevatt33
Actually, I corrected my my post to include him while you were still working on your reply.
You made some valid points. Unfortunately, many in the media nowadays intentionally spin things such as Gattis' remarks for the sake of manufacturing controversy. Moar clicks!!

Once upon a time, an arse coach at Alabama left to take a job at Fl St. On his way out and after he left he said and did some things I thought would be unforgivable. A very few years later, that same coach came back to The University as DC. A few years after that he moved on to be HC in the corn jar mountains.
His immature actions the first time he left did not damage his future opportunities. The second time he left, he showed more maturity in his words and actions.

For the record, I didn't turn you in, but people will.
