Offensively Tua did look a little off but they still played pretty well considering A&M had a top 25 ranked D coming into this game. OL and run game looked better.

Defensively the pass rush finally showed up but the D still had some confusion, busts, and missed tackles. They did about as well against A&M as AU’s D did (Arkansas too but they always play them close).

Absolutely agree with that summation.

I think it is hard for all of us to evaluate this defense because we're just not used to this sort of thing.

It was just strange to me how unproductive tua seemed to be after that td to Ruggs. He couldn’t seem to complete any passes beyond check downs

Currently? None, but I can think of very few situations in life where I would consider punching someone and I don't see any of them happening on an athletic field/court/etc

You're a much more patient man than I am. If someone punches me, they are getting it back

I have no idea if this is true, but my guess based on the way we played is that that was because of how they defended.

They were certainly dropping back but his ball placement was frankly ugly at times

Yea - he definitely didn't have his best day. Especially considering how much time he had.

That's possible. I just have zero respect for fighting. If I was the coach, Smith would be suspended regardless of what the the actual rule says.

I'd also have a zero tolerance policy for bar fights. Get in a bar fight and you're off the team.

Tua is still having a difficult time coming off the first receiver and going to the second. I believe he comes off the first and goes straight to the drop off guy. It usually works, but teams can stop that

He’s gonna developed a lot better than that if he ever wants to be successful at the next level. With the time he had today he could’ve been progressing to the 3rd or 4th option

Thank God you aren’t the coach.

Let me guess - if you were the coach you’d also tell the refs they were doing a great job every time they called a flag on your team.

Takeaways from the rest of the SEC

- South Carolina, obviously, is not a bad team. They have flaws, but they are not a bad football team. They have some dudes in the Front 7 and their back end isn't nearly as bad as we made them look.

- I think Ole Miss might be a pretty decent football team too. Not great, like Carolina, but they are not a terrible football team anymore. Very solid defensively, especially against the run, and they have an identity on offense.

- Holy cow State is a dumpster fire

- James Coley may single handily destroy Smart's tenure at Georgia. He was a solid OC hire away from legitimately being ready to win a national title and be elite. He instead hired an awful OC and is going to waste away their momentum and who knows where it goes from there.

This isn’t a dominant defense and there are a multitude of reasons for that. With this offense the reality is that we need the defense to give us about two quarters worth of solid ply and we will win most every game. Gotta come to terms with what this is.

Usc stopping UGA’s run to the degree that they did was incredible. Props to that defense. They balled out

And Smith didn't cost his team anything and he's not suspended either.

Win-win.

Poor take on this.

As much as I dislike Pville he is correct on this.

Punch to the helmet aint gonna do anything anyway. Just shows he lost his composure.

I have no problem with that being your stance. I disagree, but I respect your opinion on it.

I'm not saying it's right, but if I get decked, there's only so much I can take. This was the end of the game, I'd be willing to bet that Smith put up with a lot of bullshite through the game

This new QB is right up Rich Rod's alley
