Bama doesn't need Ridley again until the Ole Miss game.

Coach Saban summed it up well. Defense played great! Offense needs some work. By playing such a great opponent we know where are now and what we need to work on improving.
Great to get a 24-7 victory in an opener against the #3 ranked team. That ranking seems legit too. FSU's defense especially is very good.

Not a pretty performance, but a GREAT win! That's one of the best teams in the nation and we won by 17 points. I'm having a hard time finding joy because I'm feeling a little sick for Francois. I'm hoping that it's ok but it doesn't look it.

This is going to come off a bit insensitive to Francois, but i mean it actually in a protective manner. In the offseason all i heard was about how tough he was because of the amazing amount of hits he took last season and he kept getting up and competing. Fast forward to this game and i see him getting nailed again and again. You can change play calling to mitigate that even with an average OL. You can get the ball out quicker. But they want to throw the deep ball and pick up huge chunk plays with their big WRs.
Thats a risk vs reward scenario when you think about it from a more statistical view point. Each hit he takes means he extended the play, but also opens him up to serious injury. Hit after hit should be actually compounding since he should be slower over time or affected some how from the beginning of game which means risk of injury increases. You do this enough you are risking the health of your QB incredibly. IMHO Fisher has made a strategical decision to significantly or greatly risk the overall health of his QB because all he sees is the possible reward and thinks there is no chance otherwise.
I hate to see Francois get injured but it was just a matter time when you do the math of all the compounding things that play calling was risking. If you really consider his health you make some more strategic changes to get the ball out much faster, even if that brings the chance of win slightly down.
I know he cant read this but i wish him the very best. ;(

Not pretty, but I'll take it. The offense needs some work. Damien Harris needs the ball. And Bama needs a FG kicker. But that was a good team they just beat.

Hoping and praying Francois' knee is not hurt badly. Hoping it's no more than a sprain, with no torn stuff.

Cecil Hurt said a groin injury.

Just want him back and good to go.

Saban just said Evans had a groin injury. Also saw Lewis, Jennings, and Miller leave the game with injuries. Thus the presence of Mack Wilson and, late, Dylan Moses and Jamie Mosley.
Schedule softens the next couple of weeks so hopefully we'll be able to hold some guys out to heal up and get some of the other guys some experience.
