The great thing about Locksley is he’s an RPO guy and Jalen is his RPO quarterback. So look for a breakouts year for Jalen. I hear he and Coach Locksley are very close. Good chemistry there.

Ummm Tua has 98% chance of starting IMO. He can run the ball as well, maybe not as effective as Jalen but he can do it

Tua will start. This is his team. He proved himself on the biggest stage. I love Jalen and think Jalen did a lot of great things for UA, but he will accept his new role and be a great teammate. He is a great athlete that will help Bama next year, just not at the QB position.

#2 was the best Wildcat QB in the country for these past two years. I hope he stays at Bama and at QB. Playing QB (all that goes with it) comes easy for #13 and that isn't case for #2 as far as his passing skills.

JMO but Diggs will move back to receiver for spring drills but that will NOT be announced until after NSD. Don't need to prevent a good receiver from signing.

I'm not trying to start anything... It is not Tua's team yet. He hasn't proved anything.
Dude made good plays... but he made plays that could've resulted in interceptions. He threw the ball on a running play. he mismanaged the clock. He missed several open guys. SO he has lot to work on and so does Jalen... Whoever improve the most this spring and this summer will most likely get the first team reps in the fall.

I just don't see this happening. Unless it was toyed with during bowl prep.

He will be a junior this fall, and it is not time to still be looking for a position. It would be unprecedented under Saban.

Diggs was in the running to start at CB, until Wallace won the job. Diggs will have plenty of opportunity to start at one of the open spots this spring.

Both can certainly improve, but I'm pretty sure that Tagovailoa is better right now than Hurts will ever be.

Tua proved under the most adverse circumstances that he is a winner. He had to win the game twice because of the muffed chip shot field goal. Jalen is a very good college QB, too.

Yep. There are some who just can't resist triggering more Tua vs Jalen debate. Anytime now they'll be doing it in basketball, baseball, softball and gymnastics threads.

I'm not excited about Locksley, but I'm willing to see how it works out. The Freeze situation is the intriguing aspect

I meant it would be good for Jalen’s package. Not that he would necessarily start. Just that having a coordinator with RPO experience would make Jalen more of a weapon.

Didn’t mean to say Locksley would not start Tua.

Locksley was the guy who was over incorporating elements of the RPO this year you know.

You've lost your mind if you don't think the players aren't behind Tua. The WR all signed in Tuas class and he put up 26 points to Jalens 0. That's not me putting down on Jalen just stating the obvious. The players live Jalen and will continue to do so but Tua will open up the entire offense and running the ball just got easier. Jalen will still have a significant impact in this team on the field and off of it assuming he stays which I think he will.

This is not a Tua/Jalen debate, it is a thread about new coaches.
