Good. Need some snow day info

It's not a lock yet. Yesterday or the day before I mentioned they weren't impressed with the Long interview, but, maybe Lock is even less impressive. It's trending the hire within but I'm pushing for the final word.

We need something today or tomorrow since NSD is in a couple weeks

Yeah, the sooner the better so they can work that. I hate when the search drags on.

It wouldn't bother me to see Freeze as a position coach and passing game coordinator and have Locks as the OC (title and play caller) as long as Freeze was involved in actual game planning.
Seems the players - past and present - want Locks to get his shot. I think that matters some, but not the deciding factor. Players also wanted Price to stay.

I recall when Gary Patterson was given a thumbs down because of his interview........drum roll...Bill Curry was impressive in his interview...
Lets bring in Joab Thomas and Jay Jacobs for some details......
"Joab, what the F was you thinking"

Hugh Freeze to come in as a offensive analyst?
Posted on 1/16/18 at 10:29 am to Bham Bammer
Locksley will be fine. It is about execution and if we can execute and play with discipline on offense, i.e. not get stupid false starts, holding penalties or personal fouls and such, we will be fine. I think more than anything right now we continuity

I wish we could figure out a way to get Long and keep Lock.Enos would be my pick but doesnt look to be interviewing.Long is young a great recruiter and had some pretty good offenses.
I just think Locks pull with the players and recruits will seal it.One good thing is when players love a coach theyll die for him. With this offense and talent itd be hard to fail.Weve seen average ocs fkourish here.If we go this route there needs to be a young offensive coach hired.

Locksley has never had anything like the amount of talent available to him during his other stints. I think he will do just fine. Here are some context number
quote:the question is not were his offenses great at his other stops, it's how did they do relative to previous performance. This offense, with tua, our oline our rbs, and our receivers, is a friggin Ferrari. I'm not the world's best race car driver but even I can go fast in a Ferrari. I do remember thinking in the spring game that I liked the playcalling for the second team offense better, despite of course the limited playbooks
During his time as Maryland’s offensive coordinator, the Terrapins produced balanced and effective results. The 2013 offense eclipsed 5,000 yards of total offense for only the fourth time in program history, while accounting for 3,231 yards passing (third most all-time). In Maryland’s debut season in the Big Ten, the offense averaged the most points in the past four seasons.
A veteran coach with over 20 years of experience, Locksley also served as the offensive coordinator at the University of Illinois from 2005-08. The Illini went from No. 72 nationally in total offense in 2005 to 19th following the 2008 season. They led the Big Ten in rushing in 2006 and 2007 and then led the league in passing in 2008.

You can also wrap it around a tree.

Nick is in a tuff spot in that he needs to keep Tosh for recruiting but I don't think he actually wants Tosh as the DC.

What will our offense look like?

Apparently Washington's Co-DC Jimmy Lake turned down the same job with Bama.
I'm guessing/hoping this was before Holding was hired. He is a defensive back specialist too...

Hopefully a lot of 11 personnel to continue to take advantage of those wideouts and Tua's ability to spread the ball around.

I really hope Freeze is more than just an Analyst for us. Locksley would not excite me.
