He signed a 2 year deal with SF...so either they keep him as a high quality backup in 2026 or trade him for some draft capital.

Niners are a snakebitten team historically when it comes to injuries. Mac will probably have a lot of starts between now and the end of that contract. Also probably the reason they won't trade him unless cap math requires it.

Jones will be needed in San Fran for the next two years. He's shown he can come in an win games for them. It would be idiotic for them to trade him this off season. He's the 43rd highest paid QB this year which means he's making less than a lot of backups even though he's probably the best backup in the league other than Joe Flacco. He's making less than Tyson Bagent, Zach Wilson, Davis Mills, Anthony Richardson, and Jarrett Stidham.
My guess is Mac gets a nice payday when his current deal is up.

Won't be posting as a much. It looks like the ban on season long threads and megathreads only applies to the Bama Board and I was told if I wanted to do soccer I had to go to the LSU soccer board full of megathreads which kind of takes the enjoyment of the board away for me. It is no longer my favorite place on the internet.
