I'm sure Saban can see that the defense struggled the last two seasons. Recruiting and getting Moses and McMillon back is a great place to restart. Whether or not he replaces Golding is another matter. I personally hope that he does but that's not my decision.

I'm fine with social media. It's impossible to avoid it in this day and age. And yes, there are a shite ton of trolls on here. There are more rival fans posting here than actual Alabama fans IMO.

Nah I think a number of them are Bama fans. They’re just super negative about everything or just like getting on other people’s nerves

No doubt. And it's sad that it's all those people have to do in life is to troll message boards and post negativity 24/7. They need to get a job and go to church or something.

I think message boards, facebook, and texting have impacted grammar, especially in the case of written grammar rules. I'm not being critical, and like most posters, I screw up pretty often. It's just an observation. It's not necessarily a bad thing and I don't even think it's a new thing, as language changes so why shouldn't grammatical rules. Punctuation marks, and the rules by which we use them, seem especially to be changing. Someday we may not use them at all.

Waiting for somebody to grade my comments but I'm blaming my crappy grammar on this forum.

Grading your previous post formally, you needed 2 additional commas, there was a capitalization error, and you had 1 run-on sentence and 1 sentence fragment. You included 5 contractions, which aren't allowable in formal writing, but I'm leaving for style purposes. Having said all that, grading on this site's curve - it's an A+ post. I especially commend your use of the Oxford comma.

The purpose of words is only to convey thoughts. Doing that incorrectly, or poorly, has been known to start wars, destroy people's reputation and confuse Bama football forums.

Personally, it suits me fine when anyone correctly gets their point across. But, in that you mentioned it, overall, me and Festus think it was mighty thoughty" of you, don't you see?

There were LOTS of mistakes in your last post, and I hate that I waded into this stupid shite-show of an argument. I corrected one post because he asked and I enjoyed it, but this 'argument' is just the most worthless faux-intellectual horse manure I've seen in this forum in a while.

You're chastising folks about grammar rules, yet say it's fine if a person makes sense and get his/her point a cross, and you say all this while butchering formal English rules and being completely nonsensical, especially towards the end.

Your last post was just complete shite. You're trying to sound smart - and accomplishing the opposite. Please stop and move on to something else.

Not a fan of Gunsmoke? Check. How do you feel about Mark Twain's stuff?

I could get you a little sarcasm sign if that helps, but somehow your emotional predisposition is giving you away.

I'm all for sarcasm, but it has to be smart to be worthwhile. The above exchanges between you and whomever were just...terrible. I admit I could have misunderstood some things, as I definitely didn't read every line or every post, but the last page or 2 of this thread should not have existed. The board is worse for it.

I'm not old enough for Gunsmoke, and Clemens was a genius. If your goal was Twain-esque wit, you fell way short of your goal. Way, WAY short.

But I'm done with this. It's all regretful, my participation included.

How are you sure they were "terrible" if you completely misunderstood the source?

As part of the non-Gunsmke generation, let me just say it's never good to be in a hurry to be offended. A lot less to take back later on.

I didn't "completely" misunderstand anything. I obviously participated lightheartedly in my first post correcting the other dude's post.

This is certainly true. If you were not trying to chastise anyone, then I admit my error in judgement. If you were trying to chastise someone, then I stand by my comments. FYI, I read that post with "Festus" in it several times trying to understand your meaning before I posted my retort. It just seemed like you were hating on that dude. If you weren't, my bad.

Take it easy and Merry Christmas.

It almost solely depends on Dylan Moses staying or going imho. I want them all obviously but we need him back to control everything on the field. Saban’s defenses need that one LB that does that role.

I think Dylan is coming back. Dylan is much more likely to return than Tua and the WRs in my opinion.

I tell you what. If Dylan comes back, if Golding comes back and the defense looks pedestrian after the UGA game I'll be calling for Golding's head.

I really hope so Dylan is my pick for any defensive player to come back if I could only get guaranteed one player.

I’d say that is a fair assessment Shaft. A very astute observation.
