What Track and Field thread would be complete without a nod to Doris?

I'll be honest. My first reaction seeing her picture was, "a black woman named Doris? Hell, a young woman named Doris?"
Not surprised when I read she was from Kenya. That's just one of those names that's disappeared. It's not really even a bad one, like Bertha. I had a great aunt Doris. But it's definitely old timey.

Men are ranked 11th and women 14th in the final rankings before nationals. T&F rankings are not opinion polls. They’re based on the most recent performances of your team’s athletes in their disciplines.
I don’t think we have a chance to win with either team but could make some noise and into the high top 10. We’ll at least have several individual champions.

Alabama track and field opened the NCAA Outdoor Championships by capturing two podium finishes in the men's 10,000 meters.
Dismus Lokira (fifth | 28:08.49) and Dennis Kipruto (eighth | 28:16.31) each recorded coveted top-eight finishes, while teammate Hudson Hurst (18th | 28:41.87) rounded out the Crimson Tide contingent with a personal-best performance. The feat marked the first time since 2018 that Alabama placed two runners on the podium in the 10,000 meters.
Additionally, two other Crimson Tide student-athletes advanced to Friday's finals. Reigning national champion Samuel Ogazi (44.73) recorded the fastest qualifying time in the 400 meters, as Bismack Kipchirchir's personal-best 8:26.57 in the steeplechase moved him to No. 2 all-time at UA and secured his spot in Friday's final.

Alabama track and field's Caelyn Harris highlighted the second day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a third-place finish in the long jump.
Sitting on two fouls with one attempt remaining, Harris soared 6.60 meters for a personal-best mark to advance to the final three rounds of the long jump. On her fourth attempt, Harris improved to 6.65 meters (21-10) to secure first-team All-America honors.
Additionally, two other Crimson Tide student-athletes earned All-America recognition. With her 12th-place finish (51.67 meters | 169-6), sophomore Ellie Partrick became one of only two underclassmen in the women's javelin to earn first- or second-team All-America honors, while Catalina Rodriguez's 63.12-meter throw (207-1) placed her 16th nationally.
On the track, Cynthia Jemutai advanced to Saturday's steeplechase final after clocking a prelim-leading and personal-best 9:38.49 – the second-fastest time in Alabama history.

Another individual title. Alabama T&F has been killing it. Hopefully soon they bring home a national championship.

Doris won the 5,000 but was disqualified for stepping off the track a couple of steps.. It’s rule15.5-3g “2+steps on or over the curb”. I doubt she’s ever done that. Heartbreaking for her. Bama lost 10 points and would have been T6 in the team standings. Finished T15 with Clemson and South Carolina.
