You guys only care about loyalty when it comes to great players you need displaying it toward Alabama.

If a great player were opting out of the bowl game? “OMG, where’s the loyalty?”

A decent player who has been in the program four years and had his moments wants to play in the bowl game and y’all just want him to leave because getting a head start on 2025 is more important than his last game.

You guys want all this loyalty but have love for players that is extremely conditional. You’re hypocrites.

how'd he win what is known as the academic Heisman trophy?

I was ok when I thought he was dumb. If the academic heisman means he is highly intelligent, AND he still can't read a defense or zone read/rpo, then that means he doesn't put in the work.

I think Milroe would be an interesting study in the Dunning-Kruger effect.

There are three primary types of inteligence. There is recall (what), there is active (how), and there is analytical (why) . Recall is ofen referred to as book sense, the ability to memorize what the professor wants regurgitated on the test. Today's education system is for the most part, set up to reward recall. Active is often called common sense or intuitive, understanding based on experience and application. Then there is analytical, logical or abstract reasoning, the application of foundational knowledge to understand something beyond what was specifically taught.

Milroe tends to present recall but appears to be lacking in active and analytical. While he may know the what, he is not great at the how or why.

I think you nailed it. Milroe is book smart but he can’t think on his feet.

While my post wasn't on its face ironic, there was a bit of implied sarcasm. Intelligence often translates to the field. Most, if not all highly successful qbs are intelligent. Milroe is a product of his era, though. The era in which intelligence has given way to athleticism at the qb position, and he is perhaps the poster boy for this era.

If it's actually an academic award, how the frick did tim tebow win over greg mcelroy? Tim Tebow plus Danny Wuerffel scored lower on the wonderlic than gmac, and those 2 both won the Campbell It's a PR award for non school related activities.

Yeah it's more or less the CFB version of the Walter Payton MoTY. As long as you do OK academically you're eligible. Otherwise it'd just go to some Ivy League kid every year.
