I mentioned Kiffin's name because I was frustrated with Nuss after the OU game. I didn't really think it would happen. Not sure how I feel about it either

It's not like we are in charge of hiring

I wasn't saying that at all. I was pointing out that the ones who wanted him in the first place are going to be the most vocal about wanting him gone

I doubt that. There aren't any sure fire better options than kiffin right now. If he is hired then he deserves our support unless he proves incapable. Bashing the hypothetical hire as a terrible one before he coaches a snap here though is wildly premature.

As an OC he has improved the offense everywhere he's ever been. Kiffin is a very football savvy guy and he's a monster on the recruiting trail. I'm really coming around to the possibility actually. I hope he's hired.

If Saban thinks he would be valuable, I'm all for it. JMac and Nuss were both good OCs for us, despite their limitations.

I'll post this here...my touts from the Megathread:

I am excited about Kiffin and here's why (and I might be a damn homer don't give a frick)

By all accounts the last few months he has been humbled by the way he was put out on his arse by USCw. Through his HC stops he tried to do too much as both an OC and all HC duties. He came to Tuscaloosa to visit with Saban and the Bama staff and likely feel out the position and meet all Bama's staff. The egocentric douchebag Kiffin doesn't do that I believe and it is a sign that he will be an asset because at the core he is a very good coordinator. I also believe he will stay a while as has been mentioned, he's been a HC in both college and the NFL so he brings extensive experience. In 05 he had all the parts of an elite group on the offensive side and produced one of the greatest statistical groups in the history of college football, we aren't talking good, we are talking phenomenal production. Lane Kiffin has nowhere to go but back up and seems like a reset was/is needed and Bama will be the place. I am excited because I believe he will give it every bit of effort he can and that's scary, I also trust Saban in making the right choice and I knew the staff needed a shake-up and boy would they get it with Kiffin.

In regards to recruiting, I still believe at the end of the day all the staff are selling an easy product with Alabama and Kidpffin has proven to be a great recruiter and evaluator of talent, no one can take that away. Kiffin will likely bolster Fla and Cali recruiting and I believe is an instant impact with those 2 areas. He has been removed long enough from UT that it shouldn't have much of an effect on it or anyone still having hurt feelings. Again, end of the day he will be selling the U of Alabama.

I personally love the hire

Now some of you need to realize his potential as a recruiter and OC and forget his HC crashes, he will do very well I feel and staff needed a shake-up and Kiffin is it

Need to get Kiffin's face on the front of this and become the bad guys of the SEC:

I am beginning to think the whole story about Kiffin coming in December prior to the bowl for consulting was a smoke screen. I think he was being interviewed then. I think the rumors that Nuss was headed out after the bowl game seem to point to Kiffin was brought in to see if he would be a fit.
