So, has he refused to address it, or does he parse his words? It can't be both.

I don't think that is necessary when you condemn ALL of it.

Anytime I hear police chiefs from around the country tell the national news that they wanted to fire certain police officers for dereliction of duty, but was unable because of their powerful union, then Houston, we have a problem. Literally, the Houston Chief happened to be one of them. It's quality control, it's the buck stops here, it's immediate accountability, it's what's not happening in the real world.
Throw into the mix "Qualified Immunity" for government officials and it makes a nice wall for bad cops to stand behind.
Most intelligent people know better than a slash and burn approach to law enforcement, but real reform isn't happening until police chiefs have the power to exercise control of who is good cop/bad cop. And feelings of doing your job poorly and yet having legal immunity from the court systems needs to go away. The only thing bulletproof on these guys should be their vest.
Simple enough to say, but in the world of politics, you might as well be looking for an act of God here.

like this was just some cynical recruiting ploy to appeal to "the kids".
Honestly, 10 years ago I would have agreed it was a cynical move for recruiting. But Saban has proven his recruiting prowess, so these type of cheap ploys aren't really necessary for him anymore. Further, if you haven't noticed a shift in him since the tornado and the birth of his granddaughter, I'm not sure you've been paying attention. I don't think there is any question he cares deeply for his players and their families and friends.

Saban has always genuinely cared about his players even going back to when he was at Michigan State. The main thing that has changed with him over the last 8 or 9 years is being much less of a dick to the media. I'm sure he isn't easy to work for, because no one with an extreme type A personality like his is ever going to be easy to work for, but the narrative that he is actually a bad guy is 99% the product of his poor relationship with the media.

It’s weird all of these Riots are happening in Democratic ran cities. I’ve NEVER voted republican but the extreme left these last 5 years or so has pushed me to the right. I refuse to live in a lawless society

Any comment on the lawlessness from many of out current president's associates?

Yes, the hard shift to the left this country has experienced during the Trump administration is simply unacceptable. Imagine how bad things will get if we elect Socialist Joe. Riots will engulf major cities, a plague will wash over the country, the economy will decline precipitously, and our government's standing on the international stage will take a beating.

Here’s the thing. We all know why he did it. It’s popular with the kids.
No, we don't know that. Kenny Stabler said it best years ago, "your action speaks so loud, I can't hear a word your saying." Why put ulterior motives to what you see? The players don't seem to be questioning their head coach's motives, why should anyone else?

Here’s my takeaway, the kids believe in something, voiced their 1st amendment peacefully and today it’s over. Back to business.
I'll tell you Boz, this BLM is a lot of things, what it isn't, is nearly over. We are going to continue to get a heavy dose of this stuff much in the same manner that COVID continues to be the gift that keeps giving.

I have no issue with anyone voicing their opinion even if it’s not based in fact at all. That’s the beauty of America.
You are correct about that, that's your opinion. Just hard to find all that beauty in it you speak about.
Full disclosure I don’t think BLM is legit and their motives are flawed. Nothing they are for is based in fact. BUT if the kids want to voice their opinions peacefully, whatever.

The new Republican party is shaping up nicely.
Also of note is one of our own. Meet Jalen Drummond.
Turns out that a lot of Americans don't agree with the Democrats way of conducting themselves or their messaging.

Cool.
Biden is still going to get around 80-90% of the black vote.

….and this is why you see the Dems pandering to the BLM narrative and why Slow Joe refuses to call them out. Trump was doing a good job at chipping away at the black vote and making in-roads

Trumps gonna win handily. People don’t wanna admit they are voting for him in these polls because they don’t wanna be scrutinized. Just like 2016 where every poll had Hillary winning and it didn’t happen because people lied when they were surveyed.

2 of the polls released over the weekend has him polling at 19% with black voters hence the drastic shift in messaging from Joe and Kamala.

And that'd be in line with my 80-90% prediction. That's about how all Democrats not named Obama have done with the black vote.

PRESIDENT TRUMP SPOKE WITH BIG TEN COMMISSIONER THIS MORNING KEVIN WARREN ABOUT RETURN TO PLAY
quote:
President Donald Trump called Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren this morning to discuss the return to play of Big Ten athletics. The call, which was described as lasting 15 to 20 minutes, was described as a great and productive conversation which was in no way partisan. In fact, both men, President Trump and Commissioner Warren, stated on the call they agreed that football shouldn’t be partisan in any way and that it was important to get sports back in the Big Ten as soon as it was safely possible.
The call, which was scheduled yesterday at the request of the White House, focused on the necessary steps needed to get Big Ten athletics, particularly football, back on the field sooner rather than later.
Commissioner Warren told the president that he was exhausting every measure possible to play. The president promised to make testing and federal resources available to enable a return to Big Ten play. Commissioner Warren now needs for the Big Ten’s return to competition task force to provide him with a list of resources and thresholds necessary for a return to play, which he will then provide to the White House.
Both President Trump and Commissioner Warren would like to see sports return as soon as possible, potentially even this fall. Ultimately, however, the decision of whether to play fall sports rests with the Big Ten presidents and chancellors, who recently voted 11-3 to suspend all fall sports.
As much as the president and the commissioner may want to play this fall, the presidents and chancellors would have to overturn their decision to make that possible.
quote:
As Outkick was writing this story, the President tweeted as follows:

Had a very productive conversation with Kevin Warren, Commissioner of the Big Ten Conference, about immediately starting up Big Ten football. Would be good (great!) for everyone - Players, Fans, Country. On the one yard line!

And if you want to see some good melting, go read some of the UM and OSU board posts by fans who, in mere minutes, went from demanding the B1G play to now believing football should be outlawed.

WSJ - Biden speaks on violence (today)
The WSJ is the only news source that received positive rankings from both Democrats and Republicans as an unbiased news source in a Knight Foundation and Gallup poll.
The opinion articles from outside sources can be a little biased, but the editorials seem to be balanced and accurate. And btw - the presidential election shouldn't be a popularity contest; the platform matters.
