Where was Blake Barnett drafted? He very clearly is a better pro prospect than Hurts.

The pro-Barnett sentiment did not age well at all

Been eating mine since 2018 but ate the entire pie seeing him drafted on the second day as a quarterback. Roll Tide Jalen Hurts.

Oh Please...OU's scheme and #2 work made him better. Just take off the crimson glasses every now and then.

It isn't wearing crimson glasses to point out that he looked like a new and improved quarterback in 2018. He shredded an elite Georgia defense and then saw an opening for the game winning touchdown run after dropping back to pass.

Riley is a guru and was very good for Hurts and deserves some praise as well but he inherited a fairly fine tuned quarterback with invaluable starting experience and plenty of experience against top ten level teams. Riley isn't the sole reason for him to be drafted in round two. Bama had a lot to do with it.

People highly undervalue any GM's decision to draft a QB in the 1st 3 rounds of the NFL Draft. The position is one of the highest paid positions for effective QBs in the NFL and when you have a guy nearing the end of HIS rookie contract who is oft-injured (albeit thanks to his style of play) a QB is not a bad decision to draft. We're there other needs? Sure but the only guys at major needs the Eagles had were reaches there.

IMO, Jalen had an extremely lucky run of OCs and talent around him at both programs he played with, but to say he wasn't a D1 starter is absolutely ludicrous.

You must have been stoned out of your mind during the 2018 SECCG if you didn't notice the significant improvement in Jalen's passing game...long before Lincoln Riley ever got his hands on Jalen.
