Bama would have to buy out all the assistants salaries if CKD is cut loose. Then, whoever Bama hires, they have pay that dude’s buy out, hire those assistants.

Honestly, add that all up and Bama is looking at $100 million (or more). Not trying to be Donnie Downer here but let that sink in.

Face it, we’re most likely stuck with this goober for at least one and probably two more years. I hate it and I’d love to be wrong but asking the heavy hitters to come up with $100 million (or more) is a HUGE ask.

If it’s another head coach, you are absolutely right. If it’s Glen Schumann that isn’t an issue.

And how much money will they lose in donations, ticket sales, corporate money, etc by waiting two years for the buyout to drop?

Contract buyouts are usually structured settlements. Meaning the entire buyout will be owed over a number of years versus a lump sum.

The buyout terms can usually be negotiated as well,

Is that where we seriously are? We think Glen Schumann is the answer? He is the same DC that lost to Jalen Milroe... TWICE!!

sadly, even if the two main changes were made to make immediate updates, new dc and s&c coach, neither would bring immediate upgrade in play on the field. even if bama could get pruitt, for instance, these players dont know his system. you dont change s&c during the season, thats a given.

so, this season is a bust. oh well...

Ride it out, imo. But this is a hard lesson to never offer those contracts like that again. This is so anti-BYrne who has a history of doing the opposite.
