Is this a program defining loss?

I was thinking about this today. How do you think this team will respond to this loss? Do you think this will be like Bear Bryant's TN loss?! We are already starting to lose a foothold on in state recruiting. I realize this is somewhat by our choice, but I know it is going to bite us in the arse eventually.
The reason this one has me in a more abysmal mood than 29-24 or 9-6 is all of the losses to the team. McCarron may not be a Heisman winner, but he was the best qb in Alabama history. Now we have Del Rio or Sims. We have good qbs eventually, but I wonder what the team will look like then.
Mosley is the GOAT. There is no replacing him.
How do you see it playing out? Will we Utah the bowl game or Mich. St. it?

Dude. We have won 3 outta the past 4 before this season. We will probably only have one loss at the end of the season. It just wasnt in the cards this year. Saban, and the guys that are coming back will learn from this and get better. Certainly not defining in any way.

Let me explain. We are in a thing called the process. We constantly improve-evaluate-improve and unless you are a quitter when you lose you gather information and go bust your butt to improve
That is what Saban has done and I have no reason to doubt he will continue to.

Yep, Saban always uses any loss or mistake as a learning opportunity.

Auburn went undefeated, won the SEC, won the BCS, won a Heisman, a Lombardi, a Coach of the Year and pulled in an amazing recruiting class.......
were the tables forever turned? Had the power forever shifted? Was Bama thrown back into the days of being "just another football team"? or did Alabama responded by winning two straight National Championships.

Exactly.

Alabama will be a national championship contender every year, don't panic.

It was certainly a tough loss. It's hard enough to defend one national title, let alone two. The pressure of getting everyone's best shot, and having to maintain a high level of energy, focus, and motivation week in and week out can understandably wear a team down.
If the loss is program defining, hopefully it's in the sense that the loss will allow our team to recharge and come out with some renewed motivation in our bowl game and heading into next year.

Good lord, everyone needs to calm down.

Just sayin the run we have been on has been awesome and I've enjoyed every moment. Still feels like this could lead to a Utah type loss.
What is your prediction on next season? I think we will be good, but not great.

We are going to be in it every year. Who knows? The QB position is obviously a ? mark at this point. I could see us going undefeated, or losing 2 games.

This can also be another definition for program defining. The Utah loss led to our 2009 championship and the 2010 Iron Bowl led to the "never again" mantra that led us through 2011. On the other hand, 2008 Florida beat us twice as we lost to Utah in the Sugar.
What will the new mantra be? Never ever again?

Dude get a grip.
It was one game, one loss.

We came soooo close this year. Here's next year's mantra

It is only if we let it be.

Dunno, man. All I can say is that it's on this year's guys to try to find a way to finish strong, and next year's team to find its own identity.
Regardless, I've enjoyed watching our teams compete the last 5 years, and I will continue to do so in the future

And that is all any fan can hope for. That is what we as fans had with Coach Bryant and Coach Stallings, to be in the hunt. I hate losing and to AU any year. But it does happen. Coach Saban has the program in the best possible place we can hope for...in contention, and he will keep it there as long as he is with us. I remember the lost decade and have no desire to return to that level of play or expectations.

No. We are a program that is defined by what we have won and not what we have lost.
