Saban has never had "great" special teams. They've had one good placekicker, several good punters, one great punter, and a couple great returners. After 09, there were some pretty sorry special teams units in the early part of Saban's career here. They've also never been heavily run oriented - the emphasis was always on balancing the run and pass.
