The only thing I feel confident about this game is the winner should be the projected odds on favorite to win the NC.

Agree - Just thinking about this season and I can't think of a bigger game that has been played this whole season. Two great teams...two true heavyweights with everything on the line. It just doesn't get any better.

Appreciate all the cool LSU posters in here. Will be watching this with my neighbor who is from NOLA and is an uber LSU/Saints fan.

Perhaps it is just me, but I'm having a really hard time hating this years LSU and the possibility of LSU beating us and winning a NC. LF7 is a stand up guy as well as hella fun to watch, LSU players saving a mother/son, LSU fans being decent and sensible on our board...it's bizarro world these days.

I'm longing for the days of the honey badger so I can get back to loathing LSU and the thought of the possibility of losing to the Tigers.

I know it.

My family and Ole Miss fans give me shite about it constantly.

The timing is funny too. Started at Ole Miss in 2007. So I suffered through the Shula years and then decided Coach O and the Rebs were a better choice. Then I get to LSU about the time Freeze got to Ole Miss. In short, the fates have taken my disloyalty as an excuse to frick with me.

If he gets 150+,Bama's in trouble.

I don't really agree here. I think if he's held to 150 and 2 scores or less the D will have done a great job and are mostly keeping their run game in check, because, like Chubb did, he will break one or two.

Bottom line is this: Can LSU's physical offense outmuscle the Bama front 7 long enough to sustain drives? Can Kiffen commit to the run game long enough to wear down the defensive line of LSU? Will both QBs continue their recent trends of protecting the football? Will either special teams unit make a crucial error?

Hi, it's me again. The sadness of that loss has finally worn off after 6 days and I'm ready to talk about what happened.

I think my four keys were right on the money. Bama's front 7 on defense was just straight up nasty and were the stars of the game. This is one of the best defensive lines in SEC history, no doubt. They took our O-line behind the woodshed and consistently whipped them all night long. Props to Saban and Kirby for having them ready to go, although all the hype of Fournette probably gave them the motivation they needed.

What I was most impressed by though was my number two point, Alabama's commitment to the run game. Y'alls offensive line showed up big last weekend and were engaged the entire game. LSU wasn't able to get nearly the push against them i thought they would get. Henry did exactly what he does, run with power and purpose and keep the chains moving. He was the heart and soul of that performance, and put the team on his back in the second half. That final drive where he ran the last 9 minutes off the clock was one of the most soul crushing drives I've witnessed. He took the air right out of whatever fight LSU had left in that game. Once again, props to KIffin for having the right gameplan to exploit the weakness of LSU.

Neither QB really wowed me, but the interception by Harris right after halftime was the dagger for LSU. They need to have an almost perfect game to defeat Alabama at their best, and giving them the short field was just too much for our team to overcome. LSU was able to exploit the defense over the top on the long passing touchdown, but for the most part the Bama secondary played as well as one could hope.

Special teams wasn't as big in this one as it is in most contests between these "rivals" (is it still ok if I call us that?), mostly because Bama played so well on defense. I knew when that 50+ yard field goal went in though, that it might just be Bama's night.

Alabama is playing like the best team in the country right now. That roster is loaded from top to bottom with athletes who have a scary combination of size/speed. I hope you guys screw the pooch at some point so LSU can get a second life, but I know that will take a miracle.

LSU will eventually get another win in this series, hopefully before Saban retires. As for now, the best we can hope for is staff attrition with all the big jobs coming open (I'm ready to see Smart leave ).

Another good showing from the premier program in the conference. I'm looking forward to knowing you guys will have the matchup in Death Valley circled for next year

P.S. - If and when you do make the SEC title game, beat the piss out of UF. They have grown to annoy me with their little surprise season.
