Is it Deboer or Grubbs that keep games close?

Is it Deboers philosophy or Grubbs play calling that keep games close? Who is to blame for not having a team prepared? Both of these issues were present at Washington.

This ain’t the Saban era, I don’t care who the coach is, the talent is more equalized and if you can’t stand for games to be close you need to find a new pastime.

When Hill began to get some longer runs later in the second half Jam actually got a few good runs in.

All of our games are gonna be close? So Ga vs tx is just an anomaly?
We should have blown out sc, we should have won this game. With this staff it ain't gonna happen. Not saying get rid of them or at least Deboer but blowing teams out is still possible.

It’s not going to be as prevalent as it used to be. There’s not that big a talent differential between Georgia and Texas, they could play again in two weeks and the result could be completely different.

The offense ceiling is about 30 points hard to blow anyone out when you can't score.
The offense all year can't hit explosive plays.
The plays have been there, but we just don't execute them.
Every game its drawn up and the guy is wide open and we miss the throw or drop the ball.
Funny last year's team scored more points because it was explosive

Alabama's big problem with not securing comfortable wins are turnovers. We have may have seen more strip sack fumbles lost in nearly 2 seasons of DeBoer than a decade's worth of the Saban era. It has been a problem with both of our quarterbacks that have played with this regime so my feeling is the problem is schematic and coaching based at this juncture.
How many of these strip sacks have completely turned a game on its head? It probably sealed the loss to Vandy in 2024. It had a big effect on games we had scoreboard control over in '24 USC, '24 Auburn, '25 Mizzou, '25 UT, '25 USC, and '25 LSU. It probably cost us in this game against Oklahoma yesterday.
DeBoer is right that the QBs need to know the pressure and when to throw it away. However, there is something in the coaching that seems to cause our QBs to hold onto the ball too long. The scheme loves late combo route switches up to 10-12 yards down field, so that is going to require holding the ball to let those develop. Additionally, I think their own priorities lead to the QB getting good game management twisted. They want to maintain possession as a coaching point, so that can't help but make the QBs start thinking about how to make that throw instead of seeing the bigger game management situation.

2 years of Deboer and 2 years of frustrating offense that is sloppy and not ready to go when they kickoff. Flashes of greatness mixed with killing ourselves with stupid mistakes. In this NIL era, you can turn a position group around in 2 years. If we see this again next season, we'll know for sure.

Well Milroe could basically only throw a deep ball while Ty can't throw them at all and was perfecta at throwing intermediate passes until three games ago.
If Ty Simpson could accurately throw deep we would have won every game by 10 points and would be the clear top team in college football.
