Russell has to start Game 1. By not giving anyone else a single meaningful snap this season, DeBoer has effectively signaled that they aren’t any good.
If Ty comes out against FSU and plays decent in a win, people will wonder WTF happened this past season.

We painted ourselves into a corner by naming Milroe a captain before the season.
That needs to end immediately.
Honor the captains for the previous season at A-Day. Name them during the annual team banquet after the season.

There is very little chance that Russell starts at Florida State in week one. Be realistic.

I'm usually not one for conspiracy theories, but there just had to be some outside influence forcing Milroe to be the guy.
DeBoer isn't stupid, and not giving a backup a shot when Jalen played like complete shite in the OU, UT and Michigan games just doesn't happen.

I agree unless he is just a straight up dude. That said, I don’t see how you can start Ty Simpson (or anyone else in our QB room) after DeBoer has shown zero faith in them during these last few games as Milroe melted down.

If he can throw a slant, hot, accurately, and on time, he's better than Milroe already.
